Whether you like it or not this will not be an offseason of change other than the changes they have to make because of the salary cap and the possibility of losing Kellen Moore. They're not in the change mindset. They want to bring this band back together as much as possible for another tour. They're convinced they underachieved this year.

I kindly direct you to the Senior Bowl interviews of Jerry and Stephen if you disagree. They are not poker players. They're telling you what they really think and change isn't in their thinking.

The only change will be change forced upon them.

And you won't have a transcendent rookie to add to the mix next year to move the needle. I don't like to talk in absolutes but that may have been once in a lifetime. You don't even have a full slate of draft picks.

It's an offseason of great addition for the Giants, Eagles, and to a lesser extent, the Badwords of Washington. It's an offseason of minimizing losses for the Cowboys.

I cannot wait until next season. It already feels different.

Well, they are never, ever ahead of anything.

It's always about patching holes that our opponents exploited the season before, which we didnt bother to mask.

Next year, they will find whatever weakness that pops up and exploit that.

Funny how Jerry moans about coaching.....he is right, but HE hired them.

The players on the field don't much matter anymore, because the better staffs in the league will always get the better of us.

Perfectly explains why we only beat up on terrible teams. Stuck in no man's land.

Really, our only shot is to eventually land a QB that is far better than everyone else.

The Bengals being in the SB should make that evident. They too are a horribly ran franchise (The owner is the GM too) but Burrow is the difference maker.

I firmly believe that the 2022 season will be little more than prelude for the next head coach in 2023. I think McCarthy is a dead man walking and the lamest of ducks. I think he and everyone else knows that barring a huge run in the playoffs next year, he's just keeping the seat warm for option 1 - Sean Payton, or option 2 - his current defensive coordinator Dan Quinn. And I think McCarthy is fine with this arrangement because he knows he's going to get paid handsomely over the next three years regardless.

But between the large number of free agents, bad cap situation, and lame duck coach, I think 2022 is going to be a year where we take our lumps and fall back to the pack. This organization wasted an in credible opportunity this past season.

Know what doesn't at ALL help?

Failure being rewarded publicly in an attempt to make themselves look better.

The same problems defeat this team year after year.....complacency by the players that's created by the owner.....the perceived real boss.

No coach can do much about that. They aren't allowed.

Maybe these clowns would back off for Payton, but very doubtful.

Problem is there is still too many layups on the schedule to not win around 8-9 games.

Also the division is so brutal that may win it, and they can keep patting themselves on the back, and scratching their heads as to why they are usually outcoached by the better staffs.

Folks, my advice to my fellow Cowboy fans is - manage your expectations by keeping them lower than a worms belly. No sense in being upset no sense in getting excited. We are what we are, a popular franchise with a world class PR that will not win anything of consequence because of the person who owns the franchise.

Lose the NFCE, get in the wild card, one and done, or Superbowl
