As frustrating as it is to watch a once storied franchise go through 26 years of failure, the constant blame on a long succession of head coaches has never had any merit in Dallas. It's what the lazy do. It's what the misinformed do.

This is a direct quote from Jerry's Senior Bowl interview.

That quote should disgust you. It should make you angry. It doesn't matter what you think of Mike McCarthy. You don’t do that to your head coach.

All these many years later and the egomaniacal owner still doesn't have any respect whatsoever for the position of head coach. Every head coach after Jimmy has not only been put in a position to fail being saddled with no real front office but also in a thorough undressing of any head coach authority. You're not the voice of the team. You don't control your own locker room. You don't decide who's on the field and who isn't. You don't even control your own staff meetings during the week and the players have a direct path around you to your boss if they have any issue with what you're doing.

So you don't have anyone to get you the right players and don't have any ability to coach the team you're given as you see fit.

Now get out there and win us a Championship, "coach"!

This and only this is the real problem with the Dallas Cowboys. From the mid 90's to the present day. If you're wasting even a second of your time criticizing Mike McCarthy or a coordinator you are nothing more than a zombie in Jerry's fan mob. You're doing his bidding for him. He wants fans like you.

You can judge our head coach under these circumstances if you want. As if it's a level playing field with the rest of the league. I can not. I know better. The winning head coach of the Super Bowl every year had and will continue to have a much easier path to their Championship than a head coach in Dallas under Jerry Jones will ever have.

He turns 80 this year and that is the only positive that will come from 2022.

Cowboys!

I mean several things can be true simultaneously, Risen. Jerry can be an egomaniacal, insane, underminer of coaches for his own aggrandizement, but the coaches and coordinators he chooses can still be bad. But whileJerry may have chosen Golden Boy Moore, he didn't pick Mike Nolan, the other Mike (the fat one) did that one all on his own. And how do we explain Garret? Jerry may have stripped him of any real authority, but he also protected him like he was his own son for a decade. Finally, was Parcells the exception that proves the rule or was he too emasculated? Was Jerry really walking on egg shells for four years?

……of course every team in the league “will some day have somebody” coaching other than the present coach.

I’m not exactly sure what Jerry’s point is….

He loves to hear himself ramble, that is why he loved getting the tuna out of here so he could get his camera time back.

This, this, this 1,000 times. I've always said Jerry has zero respect for the coaching profession. Those Dave Campo and Wade Phillips hires were unbelievable strokes of genius.

With McCarthy, there is a unique issue even for the Cowboys. Not only is he not the face of the organization and being neutered by his FO, but I'm not even sure if Jerry is 100 percent on board with him in the first place. I get the vibes from what I hear on the radio and what I read on the Internet that McCarthy is Stephen's guy and is a major voice in Jerry's head that keeps him around.

hard to imagine that somebody so incoherent and cognitively challenged could run something so big………..just can’t seem to imagine that happening anywhere else at any level.

Cowboys!

And because the Jones cartel is accountable to no one, they can always blame the coaches, the players….whoever. Because it will never be their fault.

I wish more fans could see this endless word salad cycle that Jerry plays. Hire a HC, undermine his authority, draft players, call them great, sell the team as for sure winners, then when it doesn’t happen, blame the HC you hired because it didn’t happen.

It’s actually a set up. And most Cowboys fans fall for it. “Jerry wants to win”…”If we could just hire _____ as our HC, we would win”…”We are just a player or two away”….”If we had Mahomes or Brady, we would be in the SB for sure”…It’s all word salad sales generated by the Jones cartel. They are the reason we can’t win in the playoffs. They are the problem.

What does MM care? He lied to get the job, and he, much like Garrett, knows he should just be happy to be here. Garrett was a fake coach, MM is a fake coach, but as long as you keep your mouth shut and step aside for Daddy & Son, you'll get to say you are the HC for the Dallas Cowboys. That's the kind of coach Jerry wants, and that's all we're going to get.

Narcissists scapegoat, gaslight, and blame-shift anyone that they need to in order to keep their “self-narrative” alive.

In JJ’s case: “I am an excellent football operations man and any one of 500 head coaches can coach this team to a SB”

This is what he truly believes so he uses his power to protect his ego and image. So head coaches will come and go and take the fall for him. Always.

Of course— they are very well compensated fall guys. But fall guys nonetheless

I am surprised some find this surprising.

Look at his track record with HC's. If you ever heard the Fake Booger berating and emasculating the Fake Wade on The Ticket, that was close to reality. Look how he talked about Parcells after he was gone when he was drunk and caught on a camera phone.

McCarthy was exactly what Booger was looking for, a HC in need of a job and willing to tow the owner's line to get it and keep it. Now he has embarrassed and humiliated the man, I hope McCarthy still likes his job because he's earning that money at the sacrifice of his self-respect.

If the magpie motor mouth would just shut up and not try to be a celebrity, he wouldn't run off at the mouth and say things left open to interpretation but that's his self-importance. He's so important, analysts will actually spend time trying to discern what he was really saying when the old fool doesn't even know. Booger is a living example of money does not equal class.

He is an egomaniacal gutter ball in the bowling alley of life.
