Yeah, whatever. From the guy who would NEVER relinquish playcalling duties as a 20 year SB winning NFL coach. To become a walk around clip board holder with an inherited 2 year O coordinator to whom he'd never met and inherited that could have used a little help at his job the last 10 games of last year.

He shouldn't have accepted the job in the first place if he ain't got the balls to initiate change. Just another Yes Man looking for his retirement check at this point.

Yep like most Yes men he's here to get that final BIG check and then retire.....

I'm not a Mike fan, but I don't like this.

It sends a horrible message. Why would anybody want to coach here?
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ just a guess, but JG probably made around 50 million coaching for jerry.
Not bad .
I figure mike has already made around 14 million.;)

I'm. Not a fan of MM but Jerry is a total dikhead.
That's bang out if order. Why would you want to undermine your HC going into an important off season.
and even further, why undermine then keep him for another season? and not let him call plays?
The only thing that makes sense on why MM still is HC, is they have peyton set up to be next HC.

So this 22 season is just a wait and meh season, while waiting for peyton. Keeping dan will keep them in games, and they
get to test drive kellen another season.

If peyton comes here, he isnt going to let kellen call plays.

As frustrating as it is to watch a once storied franchise go through 26 years of failure, the constant blame on a long succession of head coaches has never had any merit in Dallas. It's what the lazy do. It's what the misinformed do.

This is a direct quote from Jerry's Senior Bowl interview.

That quote should disgust you. It should make you angry. It doesn't matter what you think of Mike McCarthy. You don’t do that to your head coach.

All these many years later and the egomaniacal owner still doesn't have any respect whatsoever for the position of head coach. Every head coach after Jimmy has not only been put in a position to fail being saddled with no real front office but also in a thorough undressing of any head coach authority. You're not the voice of the team. You don't control your own locker room. You don't decide who's on the field and who isn't. You don't even control your own staff meetings during the week and the players have a direct path around you to your boss if they have any issue with what you're doing.

So you don't have anyone to get you the right players and don't have any ability to coach the team you're given as you see fit.

Now get out there and win us a Championship, "coach"!

This and only this is the real problem with the Dallas Cowboys. From the mid 90's to the present day. If you're wasting even a second of your time criticizing Mike McCarthy or a coordinator you are nothing more than a zombie in Jerry's fan mob. You're doing his bidding for him. He wants fans like you.

You can judge our head coach under these circumstances if you want. As if it's a level playing field with the rest of the league. I can not. I know better. The winning head coach of the Super Bowl every year had and will continue to have a much easier path to their Championship than a head coach in Dallas under Jerry Jones will ever have.

He turns 80 this year and that is the only positive that will come from 2022.

Cowboys!

This is why it’s so important to listen to his public comments. Only then can we truly understand how we’ve become what we are.

There only one way to get the old fool. And that’s at the turnstiles . Until then we are feeding him either directly or indirectly. He’s winning. Ultimately it’s our fault. We all share some responsibility.

I agree with all you say, but I have to say it is still ok to bash mike.
why?
1.well he did take the job knowing what it was going to be like.
2. his game planning is awful
3. his game mgmt is awful
4.his coaching up of players is awful
5. his 4th down trys have been awful at times, assuming he makes or oks those, I wonder if he does or bones does.
6.many zoners could do better at HC than mike lol, even though we too would be burdened by jerry too.
Not saying we could win a SB, as that is near impossible, but If I were HC, you would not have seen a ending like the wc game had.

However jerry having kellen as untouchable OC lol does limit the HC in a big way. that would be hard to work with.

yeah but casual fans go just to say they went, just for a evening out, many just to kinda watch the game while they play with their cell phone.
So the stadium will always be fairly full.
even if it was half full, that would not affect jerry financially, but would embarrass him.
Sadly I dont see that ever happening.

It’s not about affecting him financially. But you’re right , probably not happening. To bad cause last time we had half empty stadium it brought about an ownership change.

I think he’d sell before stepping down or changing his ways.

I have to agree with you McCarthy spit the bit in the playoff game before Jerry made his statements and I just can't blame Jerry for being disappointed in the outcome

We didn't get beat in that game if anything the 49ers tried to give us the game.
A bunch of unnecessary mistakes cost us that game.

Mistakes that good coaches keep from happening in important games like that

These coaches Jerry hires they're just like the players that are here for any length of time.
Business decisions , follow the line of least resistance try to be successful but most important keep Jerry comfortable and happy while making the most of your window of opportunity to make money.

Every coach that takes this job knows that there's no way to win a super bowl and placate Jerry to the point where he feels involved and comfortable that he will get all the credit.
They all know going in the Jerry has his little pet projects like Kellen Moore and if you want to make the money you have to work around these things and tolerate Jerry appointing certain positions for you.

It's not a situation most coaches want to deal with because it makes winning a championship impossible. But when you've already won a championship and you're pretty much just interested in taking care of your family it could be some good money for a while.

Maybe I am in the minority, but I really dont see what is so bad about what Jerry said.

He is right, at some point the Cowboys will have somebody else at head coach. It might be next year, it might be in five years, it might be a dam decade as in the case of one Jason Garrett. But at some point there will be a new head coach.

And this goes for every team in the NFL, not just the Cowboys. None of the 32 current head coaches will be there for a lifetime, at some point every single one of them will be replaced.

Once again. You don’t have to be aware or smart to be a billionaire. Luck and hard work is what you need.

hard to imagine that somebody so incoherent and cognitively challenged could run something so big………..just can’t seem to imagine that happening anywhere else at any level.
it’s a kids sports game:lmao2:

The NFL is run like an after school club for rich people. Have you not been paying attention to what has been exposed.

If Mike McCarthy had an ounce of dignity he would have his letter of resignation on Jerry's desk today.
Not for 6 million per for 3 more years of pay regardless of whether he's there or not.

Yes ,that’s a given . But why say it?

It’s the tone, rhetoric and culture that kills us. Who the hell else blurts out crap like this.

I guess some fans just believe cause it happens here it occurs everywhere or we’ve just become so accustomed to the dysfunction.

It is 100% true that it’s a kids game, but this is an organization worth over 6 Billion dollars. There are a lot of people and families livelihood relying on a sane, coherent CEO.

the game is one thing, but the franchise is quite another

You might believe that but billionaires often make their own luck. And at least initially they’re smarter than the average Joe. And smart enough to sell and promote their product.

And while Jethro might be a football idiot he not only out smarted the NFL with his lawsuit for stadium sponsorships but has outsmarted most Cowboy fans in buying into the hype . And how the Cowboys remain #1 in revenue despite lack of success on the field. He’s definitely getting the last laugh.

No, I’d say most of the fans are the ones not playing with a full deck who’ve enabled this owner to bamboozle the Cowboys fanbase. Either that or we’re so addicted like crackheads on the street corner waiting for whatever crumbs he serves us up.

And it’s not like Mikey’s phone was ringing off the hook.

Cowboys have been a grave yard for head coaches. It’s like either the last stop or a place to get off the couch of retirement cause no one else is calling.

It’s really sad this franchise not only doesn’t attract HC’s like most franchises but don’t even seek them out.
