Why the "Dak is elite" narrative is so flawed

Where does this "Romo never had an OL" narrative come from?

He had good -very good OL's MOST of his career.

His first bad OL was in 2011- Costa at Center just killed them with pressure up the middle.
2nd one was 2012- Still had issues up the middle.

Other than that, very good OL's with multiple pro bowlers on them. Most Romo was ever sacked was 36 times.

Now...Dak in 2018 got sacked 56 times. That line featured a Rookie Connor Williams, he of leading the league in Penalties lore this year. It also had Joe Looney starting at center and Tyron and Zach missing 5 games.

So no....Dak hasn't always had great lines and Romo didn't always have bad lines lol

And this is where these guys LIE.

He even put typhus in quotes. And still...purposefully left out the relevant parts of the sentence.

Romo had some good lines no doubt. AND some pretty crappy ones too. The kind that let Watts get through and still Tony escapes it.

All this is so silly....we're not even interested in facts or civil discussion here....just Tony vs Dak. I get it if you want to argue "Dak is a complete bum"...so argue it make your case civilly and respectfully. BUT....You can't even say Tony made players better without people making it a Dak insult.

This is some crazy sh..shtuff going on here. People are nuts.

Your argument was that Romo had good to very good lines the majority of his career, and you used "Pro-Bowl" as your gauge. Let me key you in on something: you can have 1 or two probowlers on your offensive line and still have a pretty bad line. There are 3-4 other linemen. If they suck, you're going to have a bad day.

Romo was sacked 34 times in 2009, the previous season he was sacked 20 times. He played 13 games that year, so it was around the average of 2007. Every season after that (save 2010 since he only played a few games) he was sacked 30+ time until 2014. This is with Romo having great pocket awareness. The only other QB dealing with worse lines in that time span was actually Aaron Rodgers.

Those sacks are because it was Romo that sucked...not the oline. Get ready. It's coming.

You probably dont even know Gurodes' nick name coming from the Buffs.
I watched and witnessed Andres entire development
Quick, I will give you a few seconds to reply appropriate answer, otherwise I will assume you just googled it.

Ken is a classic case of falling in love with a single player that he throws out all critical thinking and revises history to favor the current player he is fawning over.

And Romo actually made some jokes about Gurode in the booth a few times. That's how bad he was at times.

I just gave you the exact history lol

It's ok, some people can't admit when they are wrong on something...its fine. We know what is really happening here.
The only thing happening here is you chasing your own tail.

I get all of that...but these guys were good pro bowlers. The guys around them were very solid.

Romo had good lines....he had two BAD lines...i agree. He made those work too.

But to say he had that his whole career is just inaccurate.

Is there an appropriate term for this affliction?

I loved Romo and defended him MORE than Dak.

Dak doesn't need as much defending lol

Gurode was dumb as a stump and was bad until Parcells got hold of him. To degrade him when Romo got blitzed unmercifully up the middle after he was gone until we got Frederick is revisionist history at its finest.

Probably do.
You’d have to ask one though, because you won’t find one here
:flagwave:

That';s right. America's Cowboy just accused me of "constantly bashing Dak". Yet...somehow...couldn't give us one example let alone "constant".

These same guy won;t admit Tony made players better than they were before. By trusting them, having the courage to give them the opportunity, even if HE gets blamed.

This statement makes me a "dak hater".

I don't use "hater" lightly. But there's no other recourse here they are exposing themselves. It's true...they may not hate Romo directly...although I wonder. But when they make a romo compliment a dak hate.....it's pretty obvious something is amiss.

And yet you wont; admit Tony elevated some very mediocre players game. So don't give us the silly lip service garbage. You;ve been objecting to it for pages now...but SUDDENLY you claim to "defend him more than dak"? BS.

Guess Ken never knew much about Andre afterall, and why I knew he wouldnt even know the basics about Andre if he didnt even know who the "Road Grater" was.

You can't make anyone better if you don't win the Play-Offs... Tony Romo made only 1 or 2 players better for Free Agency in 12 Years...I'll let you guess who???

Pretty sure it was Road Grader. If memory serves.

I didn't see this until i saw someone elses response. Just so you know, I am not like Mountain Cowboy who just joined in the last year...i was on this board Day 1 and with the previous board for YEARS on the MouthOff Sports board.

That is a lie. Of course you can "make players better" without winning playoffs.

Making players better has nothing to do with playoffs. We can HOPE it would. But it doesn't mean it HAS to.
