I wonder how strong the apathy among Cowboys fans will be present next season.
There just seems to be a malaise among Cowboys fans after another failed season.
I think being burned year after year, for 26 years, by this team of teasing fans and flaming out when it counts the most is at it's peak.
The team could start 10-0 and I think fans will be like, meh, we've seen this movie before. Only until they make it past the Wild Card or win a Divisional Playoff game will fans start to believe in this team.

Once a Cowboys fan, always a Cowboys fan no matter what.It may be a frustrating ride at times (the last 26 yrs) but in it for the long haul.

If they started 10-0 the past dissapointment will be forgotten about and the hype machine would be back. 11 playoff appearances since 1996. 6 of those ended up as losses in the divisional round, Cowboys eventually have to get lucky and advance right?

4 of those teams in 2007, 2014, 2016, and 2018 I felt they had a real good shot to advance beyond the divisional round. This year I was hopeful, but the team trajectory the 2nd half of the season didn't look quite as promising.

They've been Jerry's zombie mob for over 25 years. Why would next year be any different?

They will chant his name in camp next year. Like they always do.

Yea I always find it odd fans worship Jerry the way they do. I mean what has he done since Jimmy left? Jerrah eats that up too, another reason he sees no reason to change fans love him.

The Cowboys won their division and made the playoffs. So there is lots of hope to sell.

They would have to go 5-12 for multiple years in a row for hope and revenue to start fading. And next time there may not be a Bill Parcells waiting in the wings to save the day.

I'm thinking year 27 since the last SB win isn't going go be the magic year nobody cares. It should pretty much be the same as it has been.

If the team started 10-0 most people would be excited about it, while realistically knowing the regular season is only step one and the playoffs determine ultimate success. Then there will be a smaller group that declares this is the season, and a SB victory is certain, and another smaller group that declares that the team has no chance at all.

The first group is the reasonable group - cautiously optimistic. If you can't have some optimism with a 10-0 team there really is no point in being a fan, but if you declare the Super Bowl a certainty you are living with your head in the clouds and ignoring the lessons of history.

I think even more fans will be leery entering next season. The more fans get burned by the Cowboys the more cautious they will be. A lot of overzealous fans got burned badly this season. I warned everyone early in the season not to get carried away with the team’s success. You have to wait until December. There’s a lot of angry, frustrated Cowboys fans that have reached the end of their rope with the team. However, there will still be plenty of fans that will get over the disappointment of this season and will be back to making their usual bold predictions next season. Homerism is like a disease for some it’s tough to beat.

Does anyone have a crystal ball predicting Jerry's death before July?

Then the answer is no. Nothing changes until Jerry is pushing up daisies.

Stephen isn’t likely to be any better than Jerry the apple doesn’t appear to have fallen far from the tree.

As much as I care every year. I watch to see what will happen. It's the nobody knows aspect of it all. Who knew the Bengals would be in the Big Dance

Hope springs eternal with every new year

Most serious fans have adjusted their expectations long ago and understand where the ceiling is with Jerry at GM

We can be hopeful and enjoy the new young players till they get paid and Jerry ruins them.

But we all know how this ends every year no matter how good it starts
