I mean hats off to them still they got the ring, but their team didn't really look unbeatable and looked like any other good team this year. 49ers should have beat them in the NFC Championship and the Bengals got a terrible call against them that would have made it 4th and goal from the 10 on their final drive. A few things went there way and that's why their Superbowl Champs.

The trades helped make them better but they got lucky.

Not a conspiracy theorist but it felt like the NFL wanted the Rams to go far this year so that they could succeed in Los Angeles.

Those who think that is the model to follow in order to win a Championship are mistaken.

The only thing the Rams got lucky with was facing the Bengals who no one expected to reach the Super Bowl when the playoffs started. It may take another 30 years for the Bengals to get back to the Super Bowl.

The level of competition in the playoffs is very thin.
Coaching blunder, bad call, turnover can be the difference

They sure did . The officials held their flags pretty much the whole game till the Rams got close to that end zone and then they gave them enough downs to finally get in.

That said Aaron Donald won that super bowl he was not to be denied and had power and a will that no one could stop on that day.

Parity. A lot of close games heading in to the SB, and a fairly mediocre Super Bowl.

Which only frustrates me more that this team has never gone to a conference championship since the 1990s, because this is not the first year we’ve seen this mediocrity and/or parity.

Technically, the Bengals had no business being in the Superbowl. The whistle blew before Burrow tossed the winning touchdown against the Raiders.

Either way, it was refreshing not seeing Brady nor Wodgers.... That said, why did Wodgers win MVP? Should have gone to Burrow being he came back from a serious injury & took his squad to the Superbowl. Ridiculous!
Rams were lucky to play the Bengals.
Remember the blown call "pass interference" against the Saints? Rams shouldn't have advanced to that Superbowl either. I truly believe Brees would have won his 2nd Superbowl had the ref not blown the call for the Rams to advance.

And had the Bengals won we would be saying the missed calls went the Bengals way. Every team has to get lucky to win the Super Bowl (by the way should have beaten them means nothing when your team wins). If we wanted to stretch it further the Bengals got lucky OBJ got hurt early on because the offense was moving way better before that and the game likely is not close.

I agree, I feel the only "model" we should follow is have the owner and the GM give the coaches autonomy. After that then I feel we can get back to relevancy. I also feel with every super bowl or even just a normal game the ball bounces your way a couple times and to win you capitalize on it. The Rams did that. A couple posters on this thread stated you make your own luck. I agree, you make your own luck by capitalizing when the ball bounces your way and recovering when it doesn't. Dallas is good at capitalizing when the breaks go our way but we need major improvement with recovering when we don't get the breaks.

But I ramble, but I agree with your premise, the Rams aren't a model I would want to follow outside of the FO giving coaches autonomy.

Remember when Dallas played the Bucs and everyone was so proud of playing them close. Dallas forced 4 turnovers and still lost. The Rams crushed the Bucs early in the season. The Rams are a solid team that bought themselves a SB. Every team needs a little luck to win a SB. Dallas got that luck against the Bucs and still did nothing with it.
