Yeah they got lucky, but almost every SB winner does.

They had the easiest path to the super bowl once SF knocked off GB, and then they faced a team that, honestly, might be the least complete team I’ve seen make it to the Super Bowl.

but they still had to perform

It’s all about matchups. As flawed as we were, I think we could have handled Cincy. IMO, SF was our least favorable matchup.

The Rams were all in this year. They signed some big name veterans to their roster, but 14 of the 22 starters were draft picks. Jerry used to go after star veterans from other teams like Charles Haley and Dion Sanders and even Terrell Owens to improve the roster. The Rams did draft Donald number one, and we got Parsons number one, so in that way we are similar. But as many people have said here it's more about the general manager and coaching, and in those area the Rams have us beat.

Winning a SB is not luck . They drafted Donald and Kupp they traded for Miller Stafford and signed OBJ who had a TD before getting hurt . They hired McVey who went to SB # 2 as the youngest coach in league etc etc etc

I mean hats off to them still they got the ring, but their team didn't really look unbeatable and looked like any other good team this year. 49ers should have beat them in the NFC Championship and the Bengals got a terrible call against them that would have made it 4th and goal from the 10 on their final drive. A few things went there way and that's why their Superbowl Champs.

The trades helped make them better but they got lucky.

Not a conspiracy theorist but it felt like the NFL wanted the Rams to go far this year so that they could succeed in Los Angeles.

Those who think that is the model to follow in order to win a Championship are mistaken.
They had no more luck than any other team since the salary cap was put in place.,

It’s funny how fans here try to spin that every team that wins the Super Bowl is lucky. This isn’t the first time I’ve seen a thread like this after someone wins the Super Bowl. We have fans who think other teams get all the luck but us. They think the reason the Cowboys can’t get to the Super Bowl is because of officiating or bad luck.

I guess the league forgot about the Chargers. They need to start fixing some games so they can at least make the playoffs. :laugh:By the way you are a conspiracy theorist. Anyone who would come up with that nonsense has to be.

Arizona
Tampa Bay
San Franciso

THEN
then Bengals--who had beaten KC twice in 4 weeks

Not as easy a road as some seem to think

Lol almost every flag for the game came on that drive and all of them favored Rams. They missed a false start on the Rams entire line, and the other flag was offsetting penalties. ..LOL

Rams had a TD called back, so no, they didn't all favor the Rams.

Anyway, add those penalties up and multiply times 5 and you still wouldn't match that 75 yard TD gift the Bengals got after halftime.

Your absolutely right . Hard work planning smart decisions go into getting the ring .

Time matters, that happen early in the 3rd. That last drive was aided by penalties and missed penalty

Not remotely in the same galaxy as giving up a long TD and 7 points on one single play.

Only one of the penalties on that final drive was not on 1st down. So they mostly postponed inevitable.
The 3rd down penalty is the only one that maybe helped the Rams....but that one WAS a penalty. And they did still have another down if it was not called (but again, it was a penalty)

The Ram own the most dominate defender in the league in Aaron Donald, they have a veteran QB tossing the ball to the number one offensive threat in the NFL in Cooper Kupp, nothing lucky about it.
They got REALLY luck on the PI call on their last drive. They don’t get that terrible call there is a good chance the loss. Also, the Niners don’t drop the easy Stafford int. in the 4th their is a very good chance the Rams loss.

We have no way of knowing what would have happened after both of those situations. Nothing......very good chance....at all.

Bottom line is ya don't get as far as they did because of luck. Good team with a couple great players is why they won it all.

Yeah it’s really annoying how Stafford is all of a sudden HOF worthy.
-Led the league in interceptions
-if Tartt for 49ers catches horrendous pass from Stafford it ends game
-Jared Goff made the super bowl with same franchise and coach
-Played probably the worst team to make the Super Bowl in years, at home, and still easily could have lost.

congrats to them, wish we would have done it but the Rams were not some juggernaut team, a lot of luck went into it.
