Why is anyone acting like he is an impact player anyways? Missing Jarwin doesn't put us in a bind. We can get the same guy in the 5th round. We can do markedly better in FA, and probably cheaper too.

Imagine cutting Coop to save money then paying Schultz 11 million.
If Dalton is getting 11 million a year, he best get in the weight room and improve his blocking.Any TE in football can catch 5-10 yd passes all year.Just depends on who’s throwing them the ball.

Schultz at 11M is solid to good business in this FA class and draft.
He was 3rd on the team in offensive snaps and had 8 receiving TDs.
TE2 is out indefinitely and possibly into retirement.
You lost TE3 last year to free agency.

But you don't want to pay 10+M long term so you kick the can a year with an 11M rental. Then you likely let him walk for a comp pick.

Coop is a good WR but 20M is a lot of money when you have CeeDee as WR1. And they do have that on paper.
You can get both Gallup and Wilson back long-term with very cheap year 1s for less than 20M per AAV .
And you can draft a WR again because its' a position you've been good at drafting.

I'd keep Coop and Tank because I am greedy and feel like it is a go for it year but you seldom regret moving on from guys this highly paid after 7-8 NFL seasons.

Too bad. That really forces our hand with Schultz. But the franchise tag option is a good one. Draft a TE in the first three rounds to replace Shultz in a year or two.

I disagree. It doesn’t force their hand with Schultz. There are free agent TE’s and the draft.

Paying Schultz top 5 TE money isn’t smart considering there will be comparable free agent TE’s who will likely sign cheaper.

Braudus and Fisher are 2 guys who just make things up and hope something ends up being remotely close.

If they were happy with Jarwin they wouldn't need to keep schultz and since he's injured you can't cut him so you give him a settlement and move on then watch him be healthy enough to join another team later summer.
