I'm against it. I don't think you pay WRs big FA dollars with this quarterback. You don't get any bang for your buck.

Gallup doesn't look like anything more than a maybe decent 2 to me.
So what's your alternative? Because no "decent 2" is gonna take less than $10M, and dropping Dak isn't a smart move right now.

Id resign WIlson...he is a lot cheaper and is a similar player to Gallup that Dak trusts. I would also try resigning Turner. I'd let Gallup and Cooper go. Maybe look at another receiver in the draft. It's a good year for them.

This is not a terrible alternative.
Nice take.

i'd still draft a receiver.
i like gallup and hope this deal works.
but i'm still taking a receiver...just maybe not early unless a to good to be true situation comes to us.

Even if we re-sign Gallup and Wilson, I think we'll take a receiver in the fourth round or later. We're trying to convert Fehoko to a tight end hybrid and would be losing Cooper, so we're going to want to try to replenish some depth. We might re-sign Turner and Noah Brown, though. That would give us five (Lamb, Gallup, Wilson, Turner, Brown) although a good rookie could knock either Turner or Brown off the roster or force us to carry six ... if we count Fehoko with the tight ends (although if he is, I'm not sure he makes the roster).

Yeah, we're always "confident" a player will return 100% after an injury; we don't need to see actual results before we pay a guy a mil per game. And never mind that even without the injury, Wilson appears to be just as good, if not better IMO.

Pass. He's not getting 10 on the open market either, his agent is just smarter than Jerry.
Of course we like Gallup. All these guys are talented. Like even Robert Quinn had 20 sacks. But sometimes ya gotta kinda churn the roster. Hope a couple draftees pan out

My question is, will MG be ready in 6-8 months after his recent ACL surgery, and is 2023 a wasted year of production from #13?

If MG can stay healthy it should be an OK contract, but the Cowboys need built in outs if injuries continue.

Edit: For the record, I'd put that money into the trenches or defense.

I’ll bet if he hits the market he gets more than 10 mil
Curtis Samuels and Will Fuller make more than that
This is 1990
Randall Cobb make nearly that much
