Average player. Terrible move with our cap situation. Another blunder coming. Our contract and roster mismanagement is criminal.
I think he is above average, he is not Kelce, Kittle or Andrews. but he is defintley top of next group.

6th in targets, 3rd in receptions, 6th in yards, 5th in TDs.

and if Dak sucks as everyone says he does, then that makes schultz even more impressive

This really isn't the worst thing. The team is going to have so many holes that we have to at least retain somebody
I don't think they will fill many holes as people think

QB : Dak
HB : Zeke, Pollard
WR : Lamb, Simi. (Rumor : Gallup, Wilson to return)
TE : Schultz, McKeon (Jarwin likely cut or IR)
OT : Smith, Collins, Steele, Ball
OG : Martin, McGovern, Farniok
C : Biadasz

DE : Basham, Golston
DT : Gallimore, Osa, Bohanna, Hill
LB : Cox, Parson
CB : Diggs, Brown, Lewis, Joseph, Wright
S : Wilson, (Rumor : Likely re-signing)

So you're looking at in order,
WR - Draft is likely
TE - Draft
LG - Draft
DE - FA and draft
LB - Draft
S - Likely free agency

Top of the league

Like top shelf . . . elite . . .
You're close, but muddying the waters.
"highest in position, rank, or degree."

Doesn't surprise me though, there are a few who get confused on what elite means.

Top paid RB . . Top Paid WR . . Top pay QB. . . . now top pay TE . . . still we can only beat the NFC East
top paid TE? there are quite a few much higher, ala kittle, kelce, goedert, andrews,

Cooper will be gone soon.

yes, zeke is over paid, we should have never handed him a contract.

yes, Dak is over paid.

He is a dime a dozen TE who benefits from Dump Off Dak.

A tight end making the league minimum would give you the same results
how?
6th in targets, 3rd in receptions, 6th in yards, 5th in TDs.

and if Dak sucks as everyone says he does, then that makes schultz even more impressive

and if he is average TE as you said, then Dak must be good to get Schultz to those type of stats. it can't be both.

They probably wont allocate $10 million to it. They will probably end up signing him to a longer deal with less of an annual impact.

As for being replaceable, maybe, but easily replaceable … ? He was 4th among TE's in TD's and 6th in yardage. That's not something you can get from just any warm body.

Additionally, it looks like we will probably release Cooper, so the team may have felt it didn't want to lose another quality receiver.

Of course, if dropping Schultz meant getting Aaron Donald … lol
I hear you . . . but like another poster mentioned . . . $10 million a year will be the starting point. . and I know they can allocated the money in the back end. . . but I dont think the Cowboys need a TE on the Rostor making those kind of figures over the next 3 years.

And in my opinion Cooper is way more valuable because He draws attention away from defenses while Shultz is a product of what defenses give Dak

Are we the idiots and not realize Schultz' greatness or can they really not see the weaknesses the rest of us see????
Some poor team is going to sign a guy like Mike Gesicki for $40 + million and their fans will revolt

"Well he can't block!!!!"

No it doesnt . . . Shultz is getting the targets that Cooper and Lamb should be getting . . . except Dak sucks and has to settle for a TE or RB dump off.

Anyone with average NFL talent would have got those numbers Shultz did last year
