Great point.

My dislike for the move centers around getting the run game fixed.

If they are going to continue to feature Dak Prescott as a pure pocket passer another overpayment to whoever doesn't much matter.
They did not do that contract for a QB to hand off.

I have given up on the run game. I don't think management or coaching wants that and the game is all about the QB. And it wasn't lost on Booger that while Brady and Rodgers are dueling for MVP and Mahomes and Allen are grabbing headlines, the top story was "is Prescott in a slump"? Worth every penny of that 40M.

Another mistake. No one was a bigger proponent of Schultz when he was draft eligible than I was, and I think he's a good player. But, he's good enough to let go and not concern yourself too much over losing. At an 11M per season salary? Huge mistake, but not surprising given the front office.
there is no guarantee they are gonna give him 11 million per. Also, there is a chance Jarwin never returns as his injury appears to be pretty serious. They needed insurance for this year. The tag ensures they have some time to work on a long term deal that could be well below 11 million per year.

No it doesnt . . . Shultz is getting the targets that Cooper and Lamb should be getting . . . except Dak sucks and has to settle for a TE or RB dump off.

Anyone with average NFL talent would have got those numbers Shultz did last year
but he is making his targets and catches count. I don't think he is worth high dollars as he is not a difference making TE, but to have no TE and no plans going into off season and next season is a mistake. if its a one year tag and we draft one, then I am ok with that, but we can't lose cooper and schultz and have no plan in place. I fully expected this and not surprised since cooper will be gone. I like the plan.

and I believe people would be ok, with 7,8M a year for him, but are balking at 10M. for 2M extra, to have us cover an obvious hole is a better idea than not having any

Let’s face it, in order to win when it counts we’re going to need to run the ball. Most times Dak’s not going to beat teams w/ his arm, especially since we have no idea what wr corp is going to look like.Tagging Dalton does nothing to help that, although he seems like a solid pass catcher.Price seems a little steep, but we still have to have a TE who can block and help in the run game.

You do know you can signs guys like Geoff Swaim ($2.5 million), Blake Bell ($1.2 million), Jeremy Sprinkle ($1.2 million) for super cheap.

Yeah, he was injured. But there a lot of FA's out there.

Ertz, for example, or Rudolph.

Rudolph is done. Ertz will be 32 so you're back to square one next year
