I had a good mock going on PFN but I lost it and wasn’t able to complete. Assumptions Coop, Dlaw gone. Gregory, Gallup, Kearse and Hooker back.

These guys were on the board at 24: Tyler Lindenbaum, Jermaine Johnson, Dax Hill, Drake London, Nakobe Dean, Kaiir Elam, Kenneth Walker, Treylon Burks. Lindenbaum ranked 17 and the rest 23-31 basically.

1) Tyler Lindenbaum C
2) Ed Ingram OG
3) Calvin Austin WR
4) Leo Chenal LB
5a) Tre Williams
5b) Brian Cook S

According to PFN Austin was a massive reach at 88 (ranked 135) but I don’t think he makes to our 4th. Fits well with Lamb/Gallup and the O’s need for juice.

I do think Austin makes it to the 4th. He's tiny. Pure gadget player. Don't think Chenal makes it to the 4th, however. Not if his pro-day numbers are accurate.

Linderbaum would be a steal
Ingram needs a lot of work.
Austin is the Last WR with a draftable grade and would be a backup
Chenal would be great inside the tackles against the run
Cook Would be a steal.

That would be a tough call on Linderbaum or Johnson but I think I'd shade Linderbaum.

Chenal is a stud. Freak athlete. But the Wisconsin workout for pretty much everyone are nonsense.

I like him too and think he would be a big help to our putrid run defense but he isn't sideline to sideline and he's a liability in coverage. He is good as a rush LB so maybe Quinn who likes to rotate a lot players could fit him in.

I really like this group and it fits what the Cowboys are trying to accomplish.

Same for me. Linderbaum is the only player I'd take over Johnson. That pass rusher group dries up really fast.

I'm curious as to who you think Austin would be a "backup" to?

Can’t run sideline to sideline and is a liability in coverage but really good agains the run and is an excellent pass rusher. Kinda sounds like what Bradie James would be if he was an elite athlete. Let’s not forget that this time last year Parsons was horrible in coverage too. How much were either one asked to do it in college?

I'll try to keep that in mind. Like it or not those are traits that teams look for in three down LBs. Parsons was a top 10 prospect. Chenal isn't top 100.

I don't know who is on our roster? He could develop into a starter or rotational player but he's not there.now with his 54 career catches..

Calvin Austin is the last WR on the board?
