We are just incompetent-trading Cooper and signing Gallup is just an unbelievable move.
The correct thing would have been to keep Cooper-sign Cedric and let Gallup and his bad knee walk.

incompetent!!
They’re mad at Cooper for missing games due to not being vaxxed. Once Jerry gets mad at someone, it seems moving that player asap is more important than maximizing value. Same thing will happen with Lael for the dumb shiet he pulled trying to bribe the drug tester.

The FO mismanaged salaries and cap space and having 22 free agents in one off season.

Sadly, it's never going to change.

The "At least we got something" from this trade doesn't fly with me.
The Eagles probably get a 2nd for him if he was on that team.

Whoa, really? A God awful DT, mediocre at best backup G, backup RB and S all still on the team a whopping 3 years later?

McClay should billi strut.
sometimes you got to count your blessings, I once remembered an exclusive ST draft....none of them even lasted 2 years

Let the front office know what you think of the trade. Keep in mind the salary cleared off the books.

Browns - Amari Cooper, 6th round pick swap

Cowboys - 5th, 6th round pick swap (9 spots higher), 16 million in cap relief
Someone was drunk at the wheel to have made this GREAT trade. A 5th rd pick?????????? JJ must not have read the book "Art of the Deal" because only one team came out on top in this trade. GMs get fired for less....................

C

We got cap relief at the expense of our best wr. We will then use half of that cap space to resign Gallup to play half a season.

If it weren't for savings 20 million on the cap then this trade is terrible.
Let's face it, this wasn't a trade it was a salary dump. Nothing more and I'm ok with it.
Grade B

Out of all the guys on the cut list, Cooper was the last one you wanted to let go. Overpaid? Yes. That said, he was one of the biggest drivers of the offense and when teams figured out to take him out instead of Zeke, the offense went in the toilet. Now the Jones family took him out permanently.

Should have just restructured his deal. This one is going to hurt badly next season.
No it won’t! Hopefully, with the Amari money we will add pieces to our D. Maybe, just maybe, Jerry is finally going to stop worrying about putting on a show and really focus on winning a Super Bowl by building another Doomsday D and strengthening the O line.

Cooper almost always disappeared late in big games. Sometimes even content to stand on the sidelines, late in the game, with the game on the line.

B--no doubt the Football team and the other two guys would have made a play for him. We get him out of our conference, and move on. He is a good player, but we need the cap space

That they got anything for him is amazing since after the 49ers loss and AC called Dak a kirk Cousins and got in a altercation with a screaming Dak most new Coops days were done at Dallas. Coaches and WR's come to Dallas to get Daked Coop is the latest scape goat for Jerry's mistakes.

Depends. What are they going to do with the cap relief and the picks?

For the record, this isn't worth $20 million, and I'm a Coop fan:

It's time to see Cee Dee as WR1.

Can someone explain to me how some ppl are good with just salary relief from this trade? My point is the FO made gave Coop the deal, so somewhere in this situation they messed up, no?

Uh what?

Amari is regarded around the league as an elite route runner and separator.
He’s also regarded as soft, little dog in him. Content to stand on the sideline with the game on the line. No effort to block when we still had a decent shot to beat the Whiners. Cleveland can have him.

We need to focus on building a D with a bunch of crazed dogs, as LT once said! The cap money will help us build the D and O line!!!!

The salary had to go and the production didn't match. People way overvalue a guy when they think a team is going to take on this contract and give up a high pick. Plus I've never seen a WR less into his job. Like he much rather be somewhere else. Welcome to Cleveland... A
