well if you were looking for a stupid move wait no longer, he's a good player problem is another injury prone player and things get worse and worse this team needs to be rebuild but when you have jones in charge you will see what happens this season. after about 6 games the excuses will start and after 10 bourbon will flow in the head offices and of course it'll be putins fault

If what they said was he's a price that makes no sense for them, then that's just as stupid. Makes no sense to not keep a WR who played better and who had better chemistry with your struggling golden boy QB.
It makes plenty of sense when you factor in Gallup is a superior player to Wilson.

I think it would have been a shorter term 1 or 2 year deal from others. Most teams wouldn't sign a player to a long term contract in that situation unless maybe they had a longer track record of all-pro to pro bowl type seasons or it was just a really good deal. If Gallup is the 2019 Gallup its a fine deal, but keep in mind this contract paid him low-end WR1 money. I would expect him to be a difference maker and contribute 1k+ yards and 6+ tds a season. He's done that once in his career.
Lol. It’s a two year deal essentially with 10m covered in signing bonus. 2022 cap is tiny.

He'd have made more if he wasn't coming off an ACL. Not a huge concern as most players come back fine from it. Really good deal that will look fantastic down the road.

I don't know how much more. I don't think anyone would have seen him as a No. 1, so I think we're mainly talking about the difference between him getting $12 million a year and $15 million a year. Dallas got him on the lower end of that scale because of the injury.

27 million for 2 years for a #2 WR who won’t be ready to start the first of those seasons

that would be extremely stupid if this is a 2 year deal

Won't be ready to start yet season? Ain't the 80s no more. Grandad

Dude u have to pay market. U can’t just decide what deal u want to give someone. Lol

Let him walk. Few teams would give him this contract especially with his recent injury history. Only a fool gives him this. If you thought he was worth so much they could have given him transition tag and see if anyone was willing to pay him. The answer would be no for a guy who will miss all summer. Let the excuses begin as to why Gallup and Dak can't connect.

I doesn’t seem injuries effect guys when they sign.
And not only that whose to say his price wouldn't of been higher if he had played all 16 games (his 27 mil guranteed might of been 37 mil if he played all 16 games and broke 1k yards).

People only look at the negative side of it (why did we pay him max market value coming off an injury) when in reality he would of made MORE money if he didn't injure his ACL

So you believe they will not draft a wr?

Not in the first round, but maybe afterwards. So what can we expect from a 2nd or 3rd round WR? Just look at Gallup's numbers for an idea. Gallup was a 3rd round pick and in his rookie year had 33 catches for 507 yds.

So the way I see the WR depth chart is like this.....Lamb #1, Gallup #2, rookie WR #3, Noah Brown #4

So 12 million of the 16 million from Cooper went to Gallup. Cooper is definitely worth four million more than Gallup. Just saying.
