You guys really have to start seeing these players for what they truly are. What the heck has Michael Gallup ever done to warrant top money?
Well. He didnt get top money. Top money would be what Amari was making.

Gallup and Dak have always had a good connection. Pretty happy we could retain him, though I am worried about the injuries.
Prior to last year he had never missed a game. You guys need to seriously stop. If Gallup signed this deal somewhere else we would be seeing posts of "jerry is an idiot" "what a steal" "wow our FO sucks" Gallup is a good player and is a pretty decent deep threat. For 12.5 average and only 27 million guaranteed this is a great deal. I am actually surprised our FO did this.

$12.5 million per year, eh? Stephen played hardball, again.

There are currently 21 receivers in the NFL that make more money.

Look, wake up folks. This is the NFL. Receivers make A LOT OF MONEY.

I swear some people here think you can sign receivers who have played well for $1.42 a year....

Why does it always feel that we pay the wrong guys?

Lol. It’s a two year deal essentially with 10m covered in signing bonus. 2022 cap is tiny.

Cowboys can obviously get out of it with just a little dead cap after 3 years, which is a plus. Most contracts have some sort of out with cap relief after 3-4 years.

Curious to who we paid that was wrong? You’re always a great poster and I respect your opinion. Just curious who we didn’t sign?

If it’s Wilson, I highly believe he’s more replaceable than Gallup. Gallup is amazing on deep routes and works the sidelines like some of the best in the league.

I think Gallup is a fine player. I’m positive he ends up on PUP and after that won’t be his true 100% Gallup. So what’s that? A down year. But why do we always feel like we have to pay everyone? The offense makes a fortune and we get rid of Coop for that only to pay a lesser player. This team just doesn’t know how to be smart. They panic

I get that. But you have to look long term here. They are shedding a few big contracts.

Dak - here to stay
Zeke - gone next season
Lamb - rookie deal
Gallup - paid
Schultz - tagged
Smith - team friendly deal
Biadasz - rookie deal
Martin - team friendly deal
Collins - likely gone
Steele - rookie deal.

So that essentially means you’re paying a lot of these guys market value. Ertz just got paid 10.5 a year and Gallup is making less than 21 other receivers.

Once Zeke is gone next season, you’ve ridden yourself of 3 likely inconsistent, overpaid guys in Zeke, Coop and Collins.
