I think Gallup is a fine player. I’m positive he ends up on PUP and after that won’t be his true 100% Gallup. So what’s that? A down year. But why do we always feel like we have to pay everyone? The offense makes a fortune and we get rid of Coop for that only to pay a lesser player. This team just doesn’t know how to be smart. They panic
I get that. But you have to look long term here. They are shedding a few big contracts.
Dak - here to stay
Zeke - gone next season
Lamb - rookie deal
Gallup - paid
Schultz - tagged
Smith - team friendly deal
Biadasz - rookie deal
Martin - team friendly deal
Collins - likely gone
Steele - rookie deal.
So that essentially means you’re paying a lot of these guys market value. Ertz just got paid 10.5 a year and Gallup is making less than 21 other receivers.
Once Zeke is gone next season, you’ve ridden yourself of 3 likely inconsistent, overpaid guys in Zeke, Coop and Collins.
