News: U Turn - Randy Gregory Is A Bronco

Ok, so I'm confused now.
Dallas and Denver's deal were said to be the same correct, but now it's saying Dallas was $4-$5 million less and RG was going to sign, but SJ changed language last minute?

Wonder what the final offer was for RG from Dallas then

It doesn't sound like money was the reason for the change or certainly not the basic terms of the contract. More the last minute language change

What's the language change.. that's the question? And how the hell is Jerry not conferred on that if he's that POed? Jerry.. fire your kid... he's an idiot.

What game did he help us win? He racked up most of his 6.5 sacks against Washington

Sacks might be the most overrated stat in football.

Gregory pressure resulted in 5 turnovers last season, tied for most in football.

I’m not saying he’s Reggie White, but losing Gregory is significant.

Meanwhile, in CowboysZone:

We can all assume that the language was probably suspension related voiding years….I’d think. My question was why sneak this stuff on late? “Dad, watch this”

Jerry should be livid that we thought he'd be worth $13M per year.

Cowboys had language in the contract to protect themselves. Smart move by our front office. Wasn’t a fan of the contract, spend a couple more million and upgrade to Von or Chandler.

He doesn’t have Micah and D Law in Denver to help free him up in which he still couldn’t manage to get double digit sacks.

We get caught up in the hype, but Dorance Armstrong was just as effective with a lot less snaps.

For the ones cheering because he’s “sticking it to Jerry“ need to reevaluate life. Same crowd that would step over a dollar to pick up a nickel. Complete morons!

I know we have a lot of upset Gregory fans here but this was for the best.

I can't say it's for the best until we see what the team does instead. Even though Gregory had his issues, he was one of our top pressure players last year, especially before he got dinged up. You've got to replace that.

Now, we could move Parsons to DE full time, but then we've got to get an adequate linebacker replacement and it takes away from some of the pressure packages Quinn can use with Gregory, Parsons and Lawrence.

We could also upgrade the position in free agency, but there's been no evidence for a long time that the Joneses are willing to sign any free agent to a blockbuster deal. As some have said, probably their only reaction will be to re-sign Dorance Armstrong, who is not near as disruptive as Gregory and should only be a rotational end at best.

The answer for me in simple in a perfect world:

You use that money Gregory just turned down and sign Bobby Wagner and let Parsons be Lawrence Taylor.

Reported that the Cowboys tinkered with the contract language at the last minute. Not his fault at all. More stupidity in the Cowboys front office.

sounds like an excuse people made up for reporting wrong thing too early imo. Now it’s all “he changed his mind! We weren’t wrong” *** covering

I’m not disagreeing with you but let’s also remember he doesn’t have any wear and tear on his body. He’s not the typical 30 year old.

Still cant fight age. In 3 years, he'll be 33, def wont have the same burst and juice that he has now IMO. Im fine with letting him go as long as we get a viable replacement. RG has been more hype than anything in his long, strenuous time here...
