The answer for me in simple in a perfect world:

You use that money Gregory just turned down and sign Bobby Wagner and let Parsons be Lawrence Taylor.

Yeah, but we're talking about a Jones world. They have the opportunity to strengthen the defense, but will likely weaken it instead. I think that's what a lot of us find frustrating, not the failure to re-sign Gregory.

I'd take Wagner in a heartbeat over re-signing Gregory. Same with Von Miller, and I could probably throw at least three or four other names in there. But the Joneses haven't shown a willingness to make sure moves with their current philosophy on free agency. We'll take a shot instead at finding the next bargain like Jayron Kearse, even though he's the exception instead of the rule with our cheap FA signings.

I definitely am. I didn’t like giving him $13 million. Great story, but at the end of the day he had Micah and D law and still couldn’t manage to get double digit sacks nor a single one after Lawrence returned. He had 6 sacks this year, 5 of which came in 2 games.

Take those two weeks, the bye week and the 3 games he missed away and you’re left with 11. During those 11 games, he managed to get only 1 sack. ONE!

Just like I said before the season started that they would if he chose another team outright. How does the team double back on a deal and yet it's the player's fault?
