We buy who we can afford...what's wrong with Armstrong at the right price? It certainly means we can use Micah on the line more, has money for Kearse, a LB, also gives us cover if we can't draft an edge and will maybe leave money to upgrade D-Line.

Unbelievable.

No, for Jerry and son, this is very believable. It was only 3-4 months ago that we were discussing Armstrong’s total lack of contributions on the field since he was drafted. If the Cowboys scouts were decent when scouting DEs, they could find several draft prospects in the mid-rounds that could duplicate Armstrong’s production over the last few years. In typical Cowboy fashion, Armstrong did put up better numbers when it is a contract year. They should sign all of the players to one year prove-it deals. That is the only way to get much effort out of these slackers.

Armstrong gave the Cowboys good snaps last year. Of the remaining free agent DE names thrown around below is the impact each had last year. The first one is Armstrong the last is Clowney. Aside from Clowney, the other guys like Fowler, Barnett, Houston, Ingram, Hughes may not be the upgrades we think they're.

I think he is ok as a 3rd DE. His numbers where pretty good last year. Not a bad guy to play 400-500 snaps.

Parsons is your main event as a pass rusher, but you want to he able to drop him in coverage too. You want to go into the season with a guy like Armstrong as a rotational guy that can keep guys fresh. Not quite as someone who you want rushing in place of Parsons.

The money he gets is key. If its small enough, it doesnt take us out of the pass rusher market. FWIW Fisher was saying his sources in the organization say an Armstrong extension doesnt effect them looking at outside rushers

Basham I THINK signed a 2 year deal last year so at least hes still under contract. Hes vastly underrated. Armstrong is a grinder..I like him.
