I agree with you. I just don't like the Winston results. Yeah, he definitely takes more chances. So we could have won. Or we could have lost due to his 12 picks.

Remember Romo and some of the bad passes that used to infuriate the fanbase? And I'm a Romo fan. Winston is like Romo after drinking a bottle of cognac!
Bingo! Thats the thing about Dak is he wont make those critical errors but at some point you have to throw the dam ball and take so.e chances. Especially against the better teams.

Exactly I like Jameis but Tom Brady took the same team and won the Super Bowl.

no, it absolutely was not the same team on one player alone. Tristan Wirfs was drafted the year Brady came and it was essentially like adding Zach Martin.

It’s truly remarkable just how good Wirfs was as a rookie in 2020. He played all 1,280 of the Bucs’ offensive snaps and allowed just ONE sack in 799 pass-blocking snaps. His quarterback pressure rate (3%) was also the fourth-lowest of any tackle in the NFL.

I’m not anti Dak. I’ve actually been more supportive of him than many. So let’s get that out there first.

I’m not a Jameis Winston fan, but I see that he just signed for two years $28m. ($14 per year)

We are paying Dak roughly three times what Winston makes. If both were equally paid, I would choose Dak over Winston; however, it would not be surprised at all if Winston outperforms Dak over the next two years at about 1/3 of the cost.

You can’t win in this league without a franchise QB, and you would think that there are not many acceptable substitutes for Dak. But Matt Ryan was traded for a third round pick. Wentz is probably also in the “Dak ballpark”

Dak
Wentz
Ryan
Winston

All are “retreads” other than Dak. Would anyone be surprised if any of all of these guys outperformed Dak next year.

This is just food for thought on a rainy day in Oklahoma.

Both are on the same level but at least Winston dares to throw the ball downfield.
The only solution here is to TANK and draft a Herbert, Burrows type of TRUE Franchise QB.
6 years 1 playoff win with one of the most plentiful of talent rosters around him is what inepto Prescott has to his name.
P.S. Hey Dak watch out as its Deer season!!!!

Right. There has to be a happy medium. Romo, Stafford, Jim Kelly, and QBs like that take chances down the field. Winston is just reckless. Dak is just too conservative. He doesn't turn the ball over like those guys, but he's not good in a late drive with little time situation. Absolutely sucks at it.

the baby dak should have been appreciative by being called the black kirk cousins. he's not as talented but he should have been flattered instead of getting cooper kicked off the team for the compliment. nothing says team leader more than getting a guy kicked off the team for hurting your feelings.

Evidently you must not of watched the 49ers playoff game. Dak was horrible!!!
Just the fact that Winston is a better pure passer that alone would of given the Cowboys a better chance or should we say it couldnt of been any worse. Not saying Winston is great put he would of given the Cowboys a punchers chance to knockout the 49ers. Dak doesnt have a knockout punch.

I watched the 49ers game and although he didn’t play his best he was far from horrible and evidently you didn’t watch the entire season because we scored 530 points the most of any team in the entire league. You claimed with Winston at least we would score some points. Lol You’re claiming we would’ve had a better chance in the playoffs with a QB who never led the Bucs to the playoffs and only had one winning season in five years. Winston only attempted one pass in a playoff game and that was with NO. No way are you going to have a better chance in the playoffs with no running game and a QB that’s an INT machine.

I guess you didn’t notice how awful our OL was the second half of the season, we couldn’t run block or pass protect. A turnover prone QB behind our OL would have led to disaster, especially when your defense is being manhandled by the 49ers upfront. I’ve never seen a more clueless group of football fans than what we have on this board. The Dak hate is so rampant they would take any QB over him. Many are claiming the Cowboys would’ve had a better chance with Baker Mayfield, Marcus Mariota, Mitch Trubisky and Jameis Winston. What a joke! lol

Actually the joke is Dak. I thought he looked great scoring 50 points against the WFT, Giants and Eagles. But I knew he would fall back into his shell against the Cardinals. I knew he would crap the bed against the 49ers. Over the years we've watched him go 3 quarters of football before finally scoring after the other team is up by 20 or 30 points.
You need to watch the Kurt Warner breakdown of Dak in that 49ers game.
6 years and still gets fooled by cover 2. He proving the NFLscouts right on their scouting report before he was drafted.

What crapped the bed was our OL, coaching staff and defense that got ramrodded for over 150 yards rushing. We got manhandled up front but you’re putting the game entirely on Dak. You don’t like him I get it! If it was up to fans like you we would be stuck with a castoff at QB having to play musical chairs at the position year after year and burn premium draft picks every couple of years trying to find a solid one. We would end up like Washington having to burn draft picks on a Dwayne Haskins and a Carson Wentz.

Dumb post. Definitely a hater post.

You call the other QBs "retreads", while you call Dak "franchise" QB, but you state one of those retreads could outperform Dak not once but back-to-back seasons?

Unbelievable.

"But I'm not a Dak hater!!!"

Yeah, right...

At least If this team were churning the QB pile they wouldn't be any worse. Dak stinks against better teams and you keep blaming the oline. But Dak has time and still won't throw the dam ball. When good teams meet in the playoffs both QBs can be under pressure but Dak folds and Garapolo makes enough plays to get the W. Dude will never win a SB.

Dont kid yourself they would absolutley take Wentz over Dak while saying "Look what Wentz had to play with" while leaving out the team that was good enough to win a SB without him...its simple they do not like Dak, cant really tell you what they would rather have just dont like Dak. We should've drafted any of the other 1st round QB's that have come through (because you know we are the only ones who didn't draft them) and if we could only get another QB then Jerry Jones problems would not matter....right? But Romo now that guy played for peanuts and never had another pro-bowler on the team, if we could've had just 1 or 2 good players with him then Jerry Jones problems would not have stopped us then either..right? Again its all delusion..Dak is good Romo was good they both had good players with them and guess what JERRY STILL WAS A PROBLEM AND STOPPED ANY PROGRESS OF THE TEAM.

You couldn’t be more wrong! If you put an average to bad QB on this team the Cowboys would be picking in the top 10-15 every year. The only reason they won the division in 2021 is because they have the better QB. Dak has beaten plenty of good teams but too many fans are hung up on what happened the second half of this past season. He played arguably his best game of the season in the opener against the defending Super Bowl champions on the road but our defense couldn’t make a critical stop with the game on the line. Only two Cowboys QBs have ever won a Super Bowl. If we don’t win a Super Bowl with Dak it won’t be because of him. It’s not the QB that’s holding the team back.

Some have already claimed they would take Carson Wentz over Dak. Some are claiming Baker Mayfield would flourish with the Cowboys even though he had some good teams with Cleveland. The Browns crushed the Cowboys in 2020 with their two headed monster at RB. They had OBJ and Jarvis Landry but Mayfield’s numbers were still puny. There’s another fan claiming we would’ve won in the playoffs this past season with Mitch Trubisky. lol It’s anyone but Dak for many fans here. Now some are claiming Jameis Winston would give us a better chance. There’s another thread with fans talking up Marcus Mariota over Dak. The insanity never ends here.

the black lesser version of Kurt cousins isn't winning crap. smh, yep anybody but dak would give you the same result or maybe better. let's keep dak though.

when a three-time winning super bowl coach says you will have to surround the quarterback with elite talent and Trent Dilfer him, then I would listen to him over some "fan" actually player fan instead of team fan.

Dak needs a perfect world around him to function and its everyone else's fault when he gets confused by cover 2 defense.
