So let's say my offer to someone like Smith was going to be 10, maybe 11/year and Anger at 3/year.

Would it not make more sense to give Smith that whole 14/year deal and roll the dice with a rookie/journeyman punter? Like - Anger is GREAT. But give me the chance at a good pass rusher and i'll risk lostin 3-5 net yards and a few extra touchbacks.

More like Smith instead of Fowler or Armstrong. You can get rotation guys (which they both are at best) in the draft.

Just more roster mismanagement by the Cowboys.

They still have yet to actually improve the talent on the team anywhere. It’s mind boggling.

I say all this as a huge Anger fan and being glad they inked him.

I agree. I am one of the rare ones who doesn’t have a problem with anything Dallas has done so far. I like the Anger signing. There is no need to try to save a million or two when you have a good punter.

I have absolutely no problem with any of them either. In fact, I'm ecstatic.

A plus for sure. Got Kearse and Anger this week along with no strange transactions like they had with DLaw or fiasco like they had with Gregory. A very good week for Jones and Son given their track records. But then again it is early in the week. It is just Tuesday. Management could blow the good start to the week big time by Friday. But, no kidding, kudos to the Cowboys for keeping Anger and Kearse.

Agree, you get a pure starter to plug in and roll and what you have now are guys to let him rest when he is tired or hurt. You don’t get two roll players to play the position. What is the old saying about 2 QB’s playing, that means you don’t have one and the same at the end position.
