This kind of lazy quick draw quote is exactly why I don’t trust a word that comes out of this entitled trust fund kid’s mouth.
Jones could have just deferred answering the question until later this spring - AND - after getting reports from rehab and training personnel on how Gallup is progressing.

What if he never gets back to where he was? I’m routing for him, but definitely not expecting anything next year. Why didn’t they do a 2 year deal or something? Maybe he wouldn’t do that. Idk it was a weird signing

The real question is.. is Gallup injury prone? If so he could hurt more than he helps. Especially with his new deal in place. Should have signed him to a one year prove it deal. We may need another vet just on case one of the other WR come up gimpy.

This sounds about right, since the six month recovery time puts Gallup back around mid August. That means he'll spend training camp rehabbing on the cords and not practicing. He'll probably be medically cleared in time for week one but there's no way you're sending him out there when his last football action was his touchdown catch on January 2.

Gallup will practice and get back into game shape for a few weeks and then get back onto the field. No big surprises here.

Just means it’s likely a lost season for him. No off season work between a QB and WR means production during the season will likely be on the low side. I’m not expecting all that much from him this season.

Was really confused as to why he had the injury around news years but then did not have the surgery until second week of February ?

Even if they were waiting on the swelling to drop a little before the surgery (which I know is a newish trend) that's still a huge gap

I’m tired of first round picks being used on the easiest talent to find- WRs.
'Bobhaze' - many fans don't realize that due to the proliferation of passing offenses in college game over the last half-dozen years, the learning curve for wide receivers to adjust and succeed in the NFL has been reduced significantly. Add to that the league's transition to more formations and sets that feature three WRs makes it easier for rookies that are less than top-tier talents to find a niche and make it on a team.

BH, I'm tired of using 1st round picks on Olinemen. If mid-to-late round linemen can't be coached up, why have an Oline Coach?
We haven’t drafted an OL in round one in 8 years….last time was 2014 with Zack Martin. We need some OL more than WRs and good ones can be obtained in later rounds.

We just traded away our #1 wr who has mostly been reliable for a #2 receiver who seems injury prone now and may never return to form after the ACL and let our #3 walk who made us not miss a beat while our #2 was out.
Yeah that just about covers it. I was told by those that wanted cooper gone that Gallup would be ready to go by Seasons start, while ACL work has come a long way not many make that quick of a recovery.

Drafting an Olineman in the 1st round is absolutely covering up for the drastic shortcomings of an Oline coach. The Great Wall of Dallas of the 90s SB years did not have a single Olineman drafted in the 1st round. Larry Allen was the only drafted in the 2nd round. The rest were either drafted in the 3rd round, later rounds or even undrafted.

The first 2 rounds should be strictly left for specialty positions. Olineman should not be one of them. If you can't coach up and improve an Oline, what are you doing there getting paid millions? Go find the right Oline Coach who can coach those Olinemen up.

Before TC they’ll say he’ll start the year on PUP. Six weeks in, he’ll be “a week or two away”. Three weeks later, four targets, 1 catch for 7 yards. Two weeks later, 8 targets, 5 catches for 52 yards and no TDs.
