Jones could have just deferred answering the question until later this spring - AND - after getting reports from rehab and training personnel on how Gallup is progressing. This kind of lazy quick draw quote is exactly why I don’t trust a word that comes out of this entitled trust fund kid’s mouth.
I’m tired of first round picks being used on the easiest talent to find- WRs.BH, I'm tired of using 1st round picks on Olinemen. If mid-to-late round linemen can't be coached up, why have an Oline Coach?
'Bobhaze' - many fans don't realize that due to the proliferation of passing offenses in college game over the last half-dozen years, the learning curve for wide receivers to adjust and succeed in the NFL has been reduced significantly. Add to that the league's transition to more formations and sets that feature three WRs makes it easier for rookies that are less than top-tier talents to find a niche and make it on a team.I’m tired of first round picks being used on the easiest talent to find- WRs.
Jerry says relax.......that's why Noah Brown is back. Don't you see?Realistic Fan. Gallup could miss more than 5 games.
2-3 games sounds about right.
Who will step in in Gallup’s place as #2 WR? Noah Brown? Who???
We haven’t drafted an OL in round one in 8 years….last time was 2014 with Zack Martin. We need some OL more than WRs and good ones can be obtained in later rounds.BH, I'm tired of using 1st round picks on Olinemen. If mid-to-late round linemen can't be coached up, why have an Oline Coach?
Yeah that just about covers it. I was told by those that wanted cooper gone that Gallup would be ready to go by Seasons start, while ACL work has come a long way not many make that quick of a recovery. We just traded away our #1 wr who has mostly been reliable for a #2 receiver who seems injury prone now and may never return to form after the ACL and let our #3 walk who made us not miss a beat while our #2 was out.
He had surgery in February. No way he was going to heal in 6 months and be 100% in shape.Realistic Fan. Gallup could miss more than 5 games.
Drafting an Olineman in the 1st round is absolutely covering up for the drastic shortcomings of an Oline coach. The Great Wall of Dallas of the 90s SB years did not have a single Olineman drafted in the 1st round. Larry Allen was the only drafted in the 2nd round. The rest were either drafted in the 3rd round, later rounds or even undrafted. We haven’t drafted an OL in round one in 8 years….last time was 2014 with Zack Martin.
