I think our cap situation will decimate the roster and people will go back to that excuse.


I do admit it’s a legit excuse but at the same time it’s something I warned about for multiple years with multiple posts. If I can see it then surely a professional football franchise should be able to, right?

The reality is that elite prospects find ways. Daks just solid.

Look at the organization and OL that Joe Burrow plays for. Gets his team to the Super Bowl in the toughest conference.

Dak? We got 1 wildcard win in about 6 years against a Seattle team we were way better than.

Anyone that has played sports has choked at one time or another. Everyone has a certain level where the pressure affects their game. Dak evidently plays well against the bad NFC east teams UNLESS there is a win and your in game like against the Eagles a couple years ago. Daks issue is if there is sticky coverage and he gets just a little rushed he gets uncomfortable and he doesn't have the physical ability to throw into sticky coverage with accuracy. Basically he chokes against the better teams. That would also answer why he comes to life when he has nothing to lose and is down big at the end of games.

Dak has 3 big issues:

1. A poor blocking Oline that is penalty stricken
2. A slow and over the hill RB that is being forced as a major part of the offense
3. Substandard play calling that hasnt been able to adjust.

Thats it really. If they can somehow fix #1 the offense should get back to be an elite unit.

yes and he is not great neither, so the 4 things together ended up as a disaster in latter half of the season.

I want to win championships and paying Dak so much money that we can’t afford to have the team around him required to win a championship is where we should all draw the line.

who have we wanted to sign and not have the money? you wanted wagner? I did too, we had the cap and didn't sign him. I wanted to keep cooper, redo his contract, but we decided to cut him. we offered gregory the same money as denver, but he flew the coop. so who have we wanted to sign and couldn't because of his 17, 19M cap hits the past two years...

this narrative is so old and false, the even the most hard line dak haters have stopped talking about that. unless you can actually point to someone we wanted and would have signed and didn't becuse we had no cap, its false narrative.

Dak Prescott has "problems"? Or do fans just have a preconceived notion of what a franchise quarterback "should" look like, play like, and perform like?

At this point Dak Prescott has proven he can play QB in the NFL at a level high enough to win a title given proper support from the team around him and the coaches. This is what you want. If we were scouts we could dissect the games of every starting QB in the NFL and find strengths and weaknesses. Do you want to make Tom Brady scramble 15 times a game? Do you want Lamar Jackson to stay in the pocket 25 times a game?

Fans wanting Dak to be the next Drew Brees throwing the football are understandably disappointed with him. Dak isn't and never will be that guy. But what he is is certainly good enough to get the Cowboys where they want to go.

Building a team and a scheme around him that makes that possible is the next step; and it is here where the Cowboys have failed. Just my opinion.

Huge chunk of his stats were the 2nd games vs. Covid ridden Washington backups and Philly JV where they didn’t play many starters, and well the Gints are the Gints.
