Voch: George Karlaftis film study

What does that tell you? Offensive heavy draft coming as all our 2nd yr players are on defense. I agree, with his draft/development strategy, but they could be more active in both fa and the trade market.
This is what aggravates me the most. I love building through the draft and having home grown talent.

But would signing OG Trai Turner ($3 million) and Will Fuller ($7-8 million) stop any developing? You draft a LG / WR early and they learn and start next season.

How many rookie edge guys can walk in and start day 1? Its hard.

This is what hurts the most seeing how they want to develop things.

As of now, you're looking at a rookie LG, WR, TE, LB seeing significant snaps. As depth it's ok, but expecting them to be Micah from day one is just crazy.

Bro, you can't win the annual Salary Cap Tight Wad award by spending money now can you?

I don't think he solves the interior issues we have, and he will need time to earn reps. Mafe is a better edge than him . He plays very physical and is better against the run as well. That said, at 24 we need a DT or best available olineman. We are soft in the middle.

Well the DT situation is a whole different discussion and shouldn’t have anything to do with how Karlaftis is evaluated. He’s also 5 pounds heavier than Maye who is the definition of raw. How is he better against the run? Karlaftis has been a TFL machine while at Purdue. The numbers aren’t even close.

we all have our pet cats and flavors. I just prefer Mafe is all. I want Davis or Wyatt at DT. In my view, either helps whomever we have at DE.

I think the DT position has everything to do with DE and that discussion. If we have a guy in the middle that requires doubles, doesn't that help the pass rushers? Ask the Rams how having a stud DT helps the entire line.

Not when it comes to simply evaluating DE players individually. Your original comment referenced Karlaftis being a rotational player and not being that good against the run.

The tape, stats and scouting reports all indicate otherwise so just trying to clarify. Us drafting a good DT has zero implications on evaluating Karlaftis against other Edge prospects and how we rank them on our board.

I think the draft will tell us how he ranks truly. We wont know til then.
