Possibly, but how do you do outside stuff with Elliott?

Also....Schultz plus a run blocking TE isn't the same as having an every down TE who isn't an embarrassment in the run game.

We are beat for 2022 no matter which OL they take at 24....or how the rest of the backups they draft fall into line.

Split back formation with misdirection.

- Voch Lombardi had a past video piece McCarthy Packers offense, that showed success running the ball. and If the Packers can do that with
an Eddie Lacy, we can sure do that with Zeke even with his declining speed.

- Schultz is a reason why we need to upgrade at TE, and not just gear it towards a receiving TE too.
But if you see Voch's vid, the Packers did not even line up a single TE with this split back formation (2 RBs, 4 WRs ...or 2 RBs, 3 WRs, one TE)

- We'll have to see how the OL depth plays out post-draft. as of now it's about Josh Ball, McGovern, and Matt Farniak, .. that's not a encouraging sign
at all when it comes to reliable game experience. Expect at least a couple of dollar store bargain vets (Nyseke types ) off the street per post draft. .

I think he is a perfect candidate to end up in Philly.

Multiple 1,000 yard seasons, can help Hurts downfield, they have an overstock on picks to blow. They can easily trade and re-up his contract.

My only concern is he is very similar to what they already have.

Reports are they want a 2nd.

Nobody is comparing Cooks to Fuller. I’m just not spending a high pick for a one year rental.

If I get Cooks for a 5th or a 6th? No brainer.

Ditto here.
and we'd have two durable issue prone WRs to have to worry about ... would two 5th rd picks for Cooks do it ? Probably not.

$16.2 million is the Texans cap hit. We'd only inherit his base contract as our cap hit - $12.5 million.

EDIT: He had a roster bonus of $725K which was paid by the Texans, so the Cowboys wouldn't inherit that. But he does have an additional $500K roster bonues (approx. $29K per game). So his cap hit for us appears to be around $13 million.

Lol and what is the Browns cap hit now for Amari? Around the same I believe. So the Cowboys could have restructured him and kept any pick they would give up. And Cooper is the better receiver. They do this type of trade it will be just another example of why the Jones boys trip over their own feet all the time.

We inquire about everyone, but acquire virtually no one.

We get a 5th for Cooper, but other teams want a 2nd for a lesser WR?!?

Cooks really is an anomaly.

Six 1,000+ yard seasons in eight years playing in the league and with four different teams.

Amari Cooper:

5 1,000+ yard seasons in seven years playing in the league and with three different teams.

I think they suffer from the same problem: Nobody wants an expensive fringe star at the position. They either want superstars or underrated players who are cheap.

Whatever the Texans are asking for we’re not giving up. And no way they’re taking on the cooks cap hit. They’d have to resign him long term to knock it down. This is one of those let’s add the cowboys into being interested based off the rumor we wanted devante Parker.

What would you consider giving up in a trade for vet WR Brandon Cooks ..?

Only 28 years old. He has six 1,000 yard seasons. Looks like he stays injury free. Tempting, but he will want a new contract which will be very hefty. I would want the ability to negotiate a new deal with him prior to making a trade. I'm tired of 1 year rentals. Draft pick compensation would depend on salary demands and whether a contract could be worked out.

It would cost Dallas 12.5 mill

Cooper was a problem. That is why they got rid of him. I can't believe the number of people that don't get it. Getting rid of 3 unreliable knuckleheads isn't a bad thing. Gregory, Collins, and Cooper = Curley, Moe, and Larry.

LOL.

They literally tried to sign Gregory to a $70 million dollar contract. They didn't "get rid of him".

I don’t think there are any unvaccinated players left who missed games last year, nor any knuckleheads who were suspended. Think about it….Cooper, Gregory, Collins, Neal. The only guy we even considered keeping was Gregory, and only with a contract that protected us. Yes, we lost talent, but maybe we are going to change, or at least tweak, the culture.

You are right, they intended to sign him but the clause that was put into the contract that gave Cowboys some protection was a no go for him, but given his past I think Dallas was absolutely right in trying to cover themselves.

I’m not giving up a top pick for anyone unless it’s a stud DT or edge rusher
For the last several years the draft has been deep at WR, use the draft

Hopeful, positive speculation is not allowed here.

Makes a lot of sense. The Cowboys like to fill every hole before the draft so they arent forced to do anything. Trading for a good WR would make it so they didnt do anything stupid and take a WR in the first round.

Yeah, I can't figure out the reason teams are always dumping him. He must be some major locker room pariah or something. Maybe his cap hit is too big for his production?

Same w/ Mathieu. Produces everywhere, but no one wants to keep him.
I haven’t heard anything about his locker room stuff
But if you look at his number he need very high target numbers to put up good numbers
