If you had it to do all over with Romo and Dak in 2016

In his prime he was better than Dak?
Yea I think he was. You always felt you were in a game with Romo and he did do some amazing things. The problem was in the end you knew he was going goof things up in a big game. Dak is good. At times I even thought he could be great but it's going on 7 years now. He's been up and down. And at this point I'm getting tired of waiting for him to become elite.

When was he in his prime?

We've had 2 great QBs and Romo was not one of them. Romo was good. I'll admit he was better than Dak in his prime. He could not play anymore. Tired of seeing him always hurt. How anyone thinks we could have won a SB with a broken Romo is beyond me.
I guess Dak is broken

Take that injured excuse to your grave if it makes you feel better

Probably his first 3 or 4 years. Actually he seemed to do a lot better as he matured and got a running game but by then his body was failing him. Dak looked great in 2016 but since then he's been up and down.

We have stats to compare and that was not his best. More like 2012-2014.

Not my bias. It’s a fact that he sucked the time he did play in 2015…
Yes, it is your bias. You’d rather take a shortened season with an injury over a full season of play including playoffs just one season prior to that. Didn’t he get injured in the 3rd game of the season, and then get re-injured in November trying to help save the season? Not to mention it was a different team where Romo lost one of the players that helped contribute to that prior season when Murray went to the Eagles in 2015. At that point in time, it was like taking away Emmitt from Troy and expecting him to literally shoulder the burden again.

Well that was when he was maturing and got a running game. Romo was really a stats QB though.Put up great stats but really won nothing big. I soured faster on him than I have on Dak.

Cowboy Haters: Tony was injured and couldn't play

Me:

"then to have Romo with his ability sitting there healthy, ready to play and have Dak Prescott playing at the level he's playing with the future standing there motivating us, all of it is a great situation. I don't have a time frame. There is no time frame."

So let me get this straight….it’s ok for you to take his ONE drive in 2016 to say he still had it but I can’t take the 5 or so games he played in 2015? Agenda?

Going back to 2016.

Even though Romo probably would have crumbled on the next sack he took, a part of me will always wonder what would have happened if Romo had been given a chance to gain his starting job back during the second half of the 2016 season.

Not saying that there was a chance in hell of that ever happening, but I do believe that if Romo had gotten the opportunity and if he could somehow have stayed healthy for the rest of the season, I do somehow believe he would have taken the Cowboys to the SB.

Something about that one series drive he had against the Eagles that made it look too easy. He looked like he was playing golf.

Knowing now that Dak was going to become just an above average QB, any regrets for not giving Romo one last shot?

Would I have taken Dak out after 11 straight wins with the locker room fully behind him?

100% absolutely no chance. Romo at that point was gimpy and old. It made sense in the short term and the long term with Dak.

So? Do you think the game is played in a vacuum?
No but do you think a qb who was 35 that got hurt twice in 2015 and didn't play well when he did and got hurt badly in a preseason game in 2016 *may* have been washed?

Its not living in a Fantasy World. . its discussing football history . . . Cowboys History.

It were Dak Kool Aid drinkers that were living in a fantasy World in 2016.

You believed a Rookie :lmao2::lmao2::lmao::lmao::lmao:. Was better then Romo:facepalm:

Cowboy Haters: Tony was injured and couldn't play

Me:

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id...y-jones-start-dak-prescott-tony-romo-nfl-2016

I think we'll look and see how we do," Jones responded. "It is two weeks away, and Tony is getting better. I was talking to a guy that was catching his balls and he pulled his shirt up and showed me his bruises on his ribs. [Romo's] throwing with some velocity out here.

Jones smiled when he said that. Someone asked if he would really dare to slap the brakes on the Prescott express, and he answered, "I think what we do is enjoy how we're seeing Dak progress, and have comfort in the fact that every time Romo throws a football, it's got more velocity on it."

Also Jerry:
I'd hate to end up here with two winning quarterbacks and a tough decision as to who's going to win the game."

Routine? He was sliding in a preseason game and the dirty scum bag Seahawks fell on Him in a terrible angle . . . What is wrong with you?

Which happens in games, unfortunately. I like Romo but he was no longer physically capable of making it through games without hurting himself. Hoping Dak will be a different story now that he's further removed from his own devastating injury. Romo loved football but he made the correct choice for himself to walk away while he could still walk and play with his kids.
