As a first responder when I make an MVA on the freeway or even a busy thoroughfare I am always trying to get everyone off the road as quickly as possible. I'm constantly telling patients and bystanders to be careful because traffic isn't paying attention. Hell often times they don't even bother to slow down despite other lanes being closed. People drive horribly and cell phones have only exacerbated it.

It's sadly common to get mowed down on the side of the road. I always think cyclists are making a huge leap of faith with the traffic coming from behind them.

I believe Gil just came up w/ the wrong terminology. Instead of using the word dead, what he meant was the kid lived on the edge. People news to stop hanging on each word. Nobody's perfect, especially when talking to the public.

Gil didn't have facts. He made assumptions and trashed a guy while his body was still warm. The fact that he's a Cowboys legend doesn't make it okay.

Awful comment yes but was he wrong? If we are really honest who goes jogging on a highway?

Exactly......

And if you ask me......I'm not buying it was an accident. Who in their right mind tries to cross a busy freeway?????

IMO.....I think he offed himself....because he couldn't handle the pressure of the up coming season.

He posted a weird video yesterday....that didn't make much sense. Something definitely wasn't right with the guy.

Since you are too dense to understand. The majority of the posters are just saying a little decorum is needed, no matter the individual.
It's funny in this world of the bubble-wrapped complaining about some being rude are throwing out insults. No one said anything about Haskins that was all that bad, but there sure are plenty of hypocrites here who don't understand the hypocrisy.

did i miss something did Haskins get hurt or die?why is gill in trouble if hes telling the truth?

Because he's making assumptions, for starters. Calling him dumb for "jogging on a highway", when that wasn't the case at all.

Coming from a guy whose feelings get hurt when someone criticizes Rowdy, it's hilarious that you don't see any insensitivity to Brandt's comments. See ya around, champ.

The incident happened around 6:30 a.m. when Haskins was driving on I-595 going to the airport to return to Pittsburgh and stopped his vehicle to get out when he was hit by a dump truck.

I do not live in the fake world of social media cancellation.

Gil Brandt apologized for his response in commenting about Dwayne Haskins from scouting him and as a player the day Dwayne Haskins died. Gil Brandt was asked and he answered. It was insensitive to the Haskin's family and those who knew and loved Dwayne Haskins.

Gil Brandt is in the Hall of Fame for commenting on scouting and scouting information on players. We all can lose our minds with social media. However, Gil Brandt is going to be in the NFL Hall of Fame forever for knowing the details about players whether those details are good or bad, complimentary or uncomplimentary.

Until I came on this DALLAS COWBOYS forum to review the comments about the death of Hall of Fame Dallas Cowboy Rayfield Big Cat Wright's death, I would have never heard about Gil Brandt's comments on the death of Dwayne Haskins. Then because of those comments, I would have not gone to Mr. Brandt twitter page to see his comments on the death of Rayfield Big Cat Wright's death.

You get what you look for on social media...

More info has come out since then and now reports are he was trying to cross a large highway.

I live in a world where you don't make assumptions, essentially calling Haskins stupid for "jogging on a highway", then use them to criticize someone who just died.

Call it "cancellation" if it makes you feel better. I call it learning something about Brandt that I really didn't want to know. I'm glad he apologized, at least.

The incident happened around 6:30 a.m. when Haskins was driving on I-595 going to the airport to return to Pittsburgh and stopped his vehicle to get out when he was hit by a dump truck.
