Gil is in trouble

It's funny in this world of the bubble-wrapped complaining about some being rude are throwing out insults. No one said anything about Haskins that was all that bad, but there sure are plenty of hypocrites here who don't understand the hypocrisy.

There is no hypocrisy, just pure ignorance.

In contrast to a 70 year old with dimensia ....on much bigger issues.

did i miss something did Haskins get hurt or die?why is gill in trouble if hes telling the truth?

Exactly.....He did an in depth scouting report on the guy....and knew he wasn't ready for the NFL......very immature....
Warned people that something bad could possibly happen.....but the NFL insiders and agents pushed him to go ahead.....Damn NFL greed got this kid killed.

Gil saw it......reported it.....no one listened. Now he's telling everyone...."I told you so".......and somehow now Gil is the bad guy.

Go figure.

Pisses me off that a guy gets killed....and now all the agents and league officials that pushed this kid into the league before he was ready....now have the audacity to call out the guy that warned them all that he wasn't ready for the NFL.

It's total BS.....

Man I don’t get today’s culture. You can never speak the truth. I have no problem with what Brant said, if it’s true. If it’s true, it’s true.

I don’t know the facts. But I have no problem with someone stating true facts.

Gil wasn't stating facts. He was stating opinions, some of which we already know were wrong, then trashing someone who just died.

It's comical to me that "if Gil Brandt said it then it must be true" is so pervasive here.

I’m just saying that if the facts are true I have no problem with him stating that.

What is wrong with reporting the truth???? Not a damn thing.....

I think saying someone is "living to die" is an opinion, not a true statement. He has no idea what Haskins was doing in his life, no one but his family really does probably. I think the timing of it was totally inappropriate. His body isn't even cold and he's peeing on him. Sad/pathetic grumpy-assed man.

There's Gil Brandt's opinion, then there's TJ Watt's opinion.

this is a good way to think about this…..have to separate the man from the performance on the field. His failure on the field don’t factor into a celebration of life and even if he engaged in self destructive behavior we should let his family and close friends speak to it

I didn’t know the man personally and I’d be surprised if Gil knew him that way either…..but I still defend Gil’s right to say it.

Do you even know what he said?????? Before making comments you might wanna know what you are taking about.

Gil was absolutely correct in his evaluation from years ago......and now time is proving him correct. And now people wanna get all pissed off because he was right to begin with?????

Those people can turn in their credentials as far as I'm concerned. The media is full of hypocrites.

I see nothing wrong with his comments, outside of the timing of them. He’s fundamentally correct — Haskins did make a lot of questionable life decisions. Society is just too soft and defensive

People making assumptions, pretending they are facts, then trashing someone who just died is the kind of thing I see too often on social media.

Society is just too judgmental about people they don't even know, then call others "soft" when they're called out on it.

Gil has the right to say what he wants. Everyone else has the right to call him out when he makes inappropriate comments based on assumptions.

It goes both ways.

Hold on. Full stop.

If what Mr. Gil Brandt said turns out to be true (the way Dwayne Haskins was always living on the edge or even getting run over and killed for jogging on a highway), how can anyone blame Mr. Brandt for saying what he said?

There is a time and place for everything. This was not the time and place for such a comment. It might be true, but it simply did not need to be said because even if Haskins was "always living on the edge," he still has family and friends who loved him and are mourning right now.
