I waved my white flag years ago. There’s really no reason to take this franchise seriously anymore when it comes to football . It’s all about the entertainment value. It’s amazing we’re competitive at all.

…… not so amazing when one considers the division we’re in. If we were in the NFC West, we’d have top 10 draft picks for years to come

The Joneses have said for years that there are four pillars to the family business of running the Dallas Cowboys: Tradition, Competition, Business, and Entertainment.

For Cowboys fans, winning football games is a simple matter of black and white. But they’ll likely be seeing red as the billionaires who run the silver and blue once again seem hell-bent on demonstrating that they care most about the green.

So any press conference that doesn’t directly address increasing wins and reducing losses will come across as tone-deaf at best.

4 pillars:
1.make money
2.make more money
3. Make even more money
4. Complain about the salary cap being a real thing and
Don't sign any expensive free agents

The Joneses holding a presser about their own business ventures under the monicker of the Dallas Cowboys is disgusting.

I’ve never been more convinced that they couldn’t care less about winning or any sort of tradition. It is absolutely all about entertainment and brand building.
Sure seems that way.
So sad that the Cowboys have been turned into a giant cash cow.

I think we might actually have a small handful in the zone that work for the team or been paid to be shills. I can come to no other conclusion because 0 rational fan in their right mind can defend the last 26 years.
Even the homers no longer defend Jerry. Just a few whose squirrels appear to be a bit loopy.

Just sent you a PM I think you'll enjoy it. One of the most exciting games I coached. We won 65 to 58
I was a sporting goods salesman back on the mid 80s
And worked in Pensacola FL
Emmitts HS team was ranked in the top ten in the nation by USA today.
They played another team Across town also ranked top ten
12,000 people showed up for the game.
It was electric.
Same atmosphere as college ball

2 of my teams were ranked in the top ten in Texas. We played several games of 10k plus. Pretty exciting. Won 18 regular season games in a row, once. Those kids were treated like rock stars! Lol

Winning is far down on the list of priorities for these clowns.

Winning the SB isn't. But winning in general is. I'm convinced the Jones boys would be happy if the team was good enough to make the playoffs every year. Because if you make the playoffs, you have a chance to win it all, right?

We have posters in here that will say Washington should have kept Cousins, and Miami should have paid Tannehill, because look at where they are without them. That's the mindset I'm talking about. They're just happy with playoffs. I can understand that from an owners POV, but a fan?

I guess some fans are ok with that. Better than watching those 5-11 seasons. I disagree. But who am I to tell someone else what to like?

It was a rubber stamp. Jerry couldn't name a player on the Vikings when he bought the cowboys.
Not many bigger critics of Jethro than I’ve been but I also give him credit for providing that rubber stamp.

I’m not sure Tex Schramm approves trading Herschel our best and most popular at the time who he brilliantly used a 5th round pick that enabled us to get once the USFL folded.

That’s kind of what you get with TV revenue-sharing agreements, which form the bread and butter of the money being made. Even when a team sucks, they still get paid. There is no real motivation in this model to get bigger as an organization, it’s mainly driven by growing the fan-base viewership of the league even globally. It also probably encourages collusion. Smaller markets won’t necessarily be concerned about appeasing their local fan-base as they are with whatever team winning pass their pockets. It’s also why teams bounce for other cities, so they can get stadiums built that cater to the digital experience on the back of tax-payer dollars, while sharing none of the revenue to the public.
