I’m not comparing the two I’m simply using Brady to squash your silly argument about the teams Dak faces….

No, you bringing up Brady only amplifies my argument:

I brought up 6-0 because that was the best thing he did all year; that was his great accomplishment. We don’t talk about his 1-5 against playoff teams outside the NFCE. We don’t talk about the wild card game because that was a low point in his season. 6-0 was his Super Bowl.

Brady’s is great way to show this. When he was going 6-0 against the AFCE, that was not a highlight of his year, it’s an afterthought. He’s beating number 1 and 2 and 3 seeds, winning MVPs, making Championship games and Siper Bowls. Everything he accomplished drowns out the 6-0. His lowest highs are Dak’s highest highs.

If Dak did something greater this year, I may have missed it. What was his big accomplishment beyond going 6-0 to secure the division? They were still the lowest seeded division winner, took advantage of a non-first place scheduled they won’t have this year, made the playoffs for only the third(?) time in Dak’s career. What is this big accomplishment that’s superseding Jimmy G?

They’re in the same tier, different assets but roughly the same guy. Dak puts up fancier 4th quarter stats in losses or blowouts against the East, Jimmy wins more big games against big teams. They’re right there with Cousins, Carr, Tannehill. If Dak wants to ascend this group he’s going to have to do something different on the field than he has been. Excuses were great for him when he was on his rookie deal, but at some point the excuses will be all he has.

Try to stay on point. The comment - which you responded to, so you should know this - was that Dak does not play well under pressure. All the rest you are embellishing or wandering off topic.

He’s played well under pressure many times and I pointed out a number of the games. Not wasting anymore time with fans that think Dak is the problem.

The fact you’re using team record to even defend your stance tells me all I need to know about your stance. I wish the Eagles would trade a 1st for Jimmy G since he’s so great.

You keep saying that about Jimmy being great, and you know it’s sophistry.

Team record will always follow a QB. If you have to disassociate the two to justify a QB’s play then that would mean you probably need to start looking for a new QB.

If Dak isn’t paid to win and you’re not even asking him to do so because it’s “not a QB’s stat”, then what is he in Dallas for? Selling commercials? It’s the single most important position in all of team sports, and has a dramatically proportional impact to winning that any other position.

If I ever need a week 2 comeback at home against a putrid team i will keep Dak in mind. When it comes to the pressure of playoff games, I'd prefer a QB who has demonstrated he can handled that.

Dak has played well in three of his 4 playoff appearances. He went toe to toe with Aaron Rodgers in 2016 and brought us back from a big deficit to tie the game only to have our defense breakdown in the closing seconds. He outplayed Russell Wilson in the playoffs earning his first playoff win. The following week he outplayed Jared Goff in the playoffs only to have our defense breakdown once again. You would prefer a lesser QB. That says it all about you.

I would rather have Shanahan and the SF front office.

Dak is a much better player.

The usual litany of excuses notwithstanding, why don't we leave this that we both hope Dak can find a way to play well in the playoffs and pilot the team to victory.

For him to play well in the playoffs the team around him needs to step up. It’s going to be hard for him to lead us to playoff wins with no running game, a struggling OL and a defense that gives up over 150 yards on the ground and can’t tackle. We’re not going to win playoff games regardless who our QB is if we’re losing the battle in the trenches. Some very average QBs have won playoff games and Super Bowls because they had great teams around them with great defenses. They weren’t being forced to carry their teams.

Trent Dilfer, Brad Johnson, Mark Rypien and Jim McMahon just to name a few average QBs who won playoff games and a Super Bowl. A QB like Jimmy G would have no chance of success with the Cowboys. Even with the team he had he tossed 12 INT’s and had 8 fumbles. He didn’t even have to throw for 200 yards in his first two playoff wins this past season. Go check out his playoff numbers he had more INTs than TDs. No way would the Cowboys win a playoff game with those numbers from their QB. Dream on! lol

Dak but both guys need a lot of great around them to win.

Neither guy wins on their own because they just aren’t capable of it.

The game was there to win last year and he didn't get it done in crunch time. Just like he didn't get it done in the previous game of consequence he played in (the do or die game with the Eagles when Wentz was throwing to a bunch of janitors and still outplayed Dak, who, you might recall, had a chance to win the game but overthrew a wide open receiver). Maybe he will turn it around. I doubt it.

Our defense gave up over 150 yards rushing and we were getting punched in the mouth on both sides of the ball. We had no running game and Dak got sacked 5 times. The 49ers did what most including myself thought they would do out physical us. The final play of the game was a stupid call that falls squarely on the bucket head Jerry has coaching the team. You can have Jimmy G, Carson Wentz or Baker Mayfield. Lol

Why can't we say that Brady and NE benefited from a weak division but were still great nevertheless....the same could be said for Steve Young and a terrible NFC West.

You can say that. I'd even agree with you. I surely wasn't taking away from Brady' or the Pat's greatness.

So Aaron Rodgers lost to the same 49ers team that Dak lost too....so help me here using your logic Rodgers was the reason they couldn't beat the 49ers and Jimmy G is better than him because he beat him? Am I following you correctly?
