It's Your Pick at 24

Probably Penning.

Speaking of Jordan Davis, he was a late 1st round grade until he posted that 40 time. That speed isn't doing much when he's lining up between the G and C. I still see him as a late first rounder.

No other team wants to move up.
Zion is gone.
Tyler Smith, Kenyon Green and Trevor Penning are there.
Who you taking?
Or are you going another direction and hoping to find the starting LG somewhere else?
I AM actually getting the vibe that Zion is coming off the board before 24.

Green and Smith are both good players. It's really hard to imagine Zion, 1st guard off the board lasting till 24,
so it's a real situation, he shouldn't be there.

With that said, Cowboys as we know sometimes draft BPA, and in this case, best player to fall to 24. When I look
over our unit, especially the contracts up next season, we have tons of different directions this team could go.

Oline looks the most thin at Backups, and questionable starters in the interior but even tackles, aging Tyron and unproven Steele with only Josh Ball is the backup.
Oline picks will happen.

TE is probably coming off the board in the second round. Deep TE class. Dalton is a one year tag and they want to see what he can do
before paying him tons.
Not much depth behind him.

Corner is a glaring need since Brown has one more year on his contract and Kelvin J. might be cut at some point based on his current situation.
Can Lewis play the edge? No depth without Kelvin.

Interior DLine isn't bad but could always upgrade.

Safety - What if Kyle Hamilton drops?? Safeties always drop.

Wideouts are deep in this draft class and if one falls, Jerry loves a flashy offensive skill player.
Plus our backups are pretty thin and we don't know what James Washington can do.

I'm excited but I really have no clue as to what the Cowboys intend to do. Should be fun!

Tyler Smith.

Penning is also raw and can't move to OG.

Smith can play OG as a rookie. Moving inside resolves many of his issues at LT. Then he is an option to move to LT in a year or two once he has had real coaching instead of a grad assistant OL coach.

Smith is starting to grow on me for the reasons you list.
He could become the best of the lot in 2-4 years

tulsa ot tyler smith.
unless arkansas wr treylon burks is there...then i go him.

With 24th pick in the NFL draft the Dallas Cowboys select Treylon Burks out of the University of Arkansas

Penning easily.

I get my La’el replacement and Steele goes back to being swing tackle (where he belongs)

Yep, though Steele isnt a true swing tackle, he's a RT that would allow Penning to move over to Left. Even if we're looking at playing the 'Best 5' (and Steele's balling), as Dane describes Penning in The Beast he has a "physical presence to dominate the man in front of him", and as he's a brawler and aggressive (plays with a stoop - Cavanaugh) he could even spot at LG.
