Talented Enough? QBs

Just heard Cowherd talking about how Mayfield blew it in Cleveland despite being talented. He doesn’t think Sam Darnold blew it in NY or Carolina. His argument is Sam got a second chance but he’s just not talented enough to overcome a bad roster. Sounds so stupid….he compares Darnold by saying he cannot overcome a bad roster like Mahommes, Allen, etc.

Why can’t people just say these QBs are supremely talented, super elite. There’s another group who are very talented but are below the elite group. Then come average QBs you can win games with, followed by QBs who just aren’t very talented.

When did Mahommes, Allen, Jackson and other super talented QBs ever overcome a bad roster and win anything? No one wins with a bad roster, no matter how good their QB is. I hear others besides Cowterd refer to QBs who’s talent would win anywhere….BS. These guys are on great rosters with good coaching. Put Mahommes or Allen on last year’s bad teams, and those teams aren’t going anywhere.

It’s easy to see the difference between great, very good, good, and bad QB’s, but none of them are going to win with a bad roster.
Hmm...so coy. How cute.

Cowherd has an opinion like everyone else and is usually wrong. Don’t know why some put any weight into anything he says. Just because he has a platform allowing him to give his opinions doesn’t mean he knows what he’s talking about.
Depends if you agree. It's hilarious to see people who say exactly what you said...then "oh he got this one right".
No....we just cherry pick stuff that suits or doesn't suit our opinion.

He’s wrong most of the time. Go back to some of his previous videos from a few years ago giving his thoughts on the Cowboys and check his track record. He claimed early last season the Cowboys knocked one out of the park with Osa who ended up disappearing. He got off to a great start and he put him in the pro bowl. He may end up being a real good player but he fell off pretty bad last season.

i wouldn't say better but pros and cons al lined uo its a wash..sorry but i watched last year Matt wasn't the sole reason they won that sb..that defense bailed him out many times in the playoffs etc nearly had game ending pick but dropped in SF etc..

dak had his team forget how to run pass block , call players and oh the 14 penalties sure wasnt happing to the rams.you can try and discount dak we may not be the lions but our TEAM around dak finds ways to implode in big moments
You easily give credit for the team imploding....but that doesn't include dak, right?

MR Hypocrite, negative trolling has emerged. dak was low on that list, sure could have played better but we know where it starts..in the trenches 14 effn penalties by both d and o lines..cant win games fighting 1st and 20 nearly half the possessions.NO run game #3 Defense giving up 4 straight scores in the first half sure that all dak..

The reality is it takes balance. Several contributing factors .

Having a greater QB definitely helps and makes it easier to build around potentially allowing more weaknesses to be overcome .

Buts it’s not the absolute answer. And unfortunately there’s not enough of them to go around. Good news is there is enough able QB’s to build around.

In an era with salary caps which don’t allow you to stockpile talent it’s never been more critical to avoid injuries , not over pay key talents , have solid drafts year after year, great coaching staffs and non toxic cultures or environments.

Do the Cowboys have a good enough supporting cast, coaching staff and non toxic culture to have more success with one of the Elite QB’s?

It’s possible . But how do you suggest we get one ?

I’d argue we have many more weaknesses and obstacles to overcome than just not having an Elite QB.

There’s 32 NFL teams and by most accounts about 6-8 Elite or Tier 1 QB’s.

That means about 75% or more of the league have to build around less than a Tier 1 QB.

When did I ever call YOU "negative". Never.

It's hilarious you just keep making ship up and calling ME the troll. My estrogen is just fine but thanks for being misogynist. I questioned how you blame "the team" and have so LITTLE blame on Dak.....and call it "starting negative replies". When all you have to do is say "Oh I FULLY blame Dak as much as the rest"...and it''s end of the story. Your position made totally clear.

But you just want to make up lies and fight. And obfuscating ANY point or questions others might have had...derailing everything to a mess.

THAT...is a troll.

I think one of our imbalances is a coaching staff that "gets the most out of players". We often talk about a QB should do that.....but not without a lot of help from the staff...namely OC and HC.
I think the run game is a perfect example. Many teams have injuries or sub-elites...and manage to have balance. We just can;t seem to do it.

Patrick Mahomes is nothing without hill. Most overrated quarterback in history
Mehhhh not! You switch Mahomes and Dak and the Cowboys have a couple more SB rings. And KC has 1 playoff win in 6 years.

Yea but our imbalances or obstacles to overcome begin higher up the totem pole than coaching.

The joke is on you and the haters that still hang around.....

Sorry to burst your Dak is god bubble but damn near everyone including most of the past Dak slobberers have come to term of what Dak is. A slightly above average QB aka Cousins tier. Doesn't make us haters. Have posted many times he's good enough to get us a championship as long as he drives the bus straight.

You and a few Dak worshipers are a dieing breed.
