Dude doesn’t even deserve the tag…. Jerry will budge and give him a contract he doesn’t deserve and the team will regret by year 2 like the zeke deal
What does it take to "deserve the tag". It's not a reward or honor, it's just ensuring that one player can't go to another team for one year.

As for a contract for more than one year, what it will be and what the long term effect may be, that may or may not be true. Only time will tell.

Dalton, the rest of America is suffering through high gas prices, inflation, and a staggering inflation we haven't seen in over 40 years. Yet, you want to complain about a $10 million dollar contract you agreed too???? $10 million to play a kids game for only 17 days out of 365!

Grow the hell up.

He signed the franchise tag, so there is absolutely nothing the Cowboys FO has to do if they want the tag to stand, its already been signed.
Coming out publicly and taking this early stance is an agent agenda, but I would expect Jerry to hand out a long term contract, would free up more money this year, but not sure why we even need more cap for this season.

Lol they're saying he not even worth the tag he got, that's worse

If he's not even worth what he got (agreed) yet wants even more, what adjectives fit there better than others? Is it not greedy and selfish? Just observing.

No need to disparage Zeke to put Schultz's contract demands in context. When he held out Zeke was coming off 4 years where he was the best RB in football and was clearly the straw that stirred the drink for the Cowboys offense. Schultz is coming off one year where he was maybe the 10th best at his position. There is zero similarity between the two.
Zeke didn't deserve what he got. And Schultz doesn't deserve what he's asking. Apples to apples, my man.

And since we have no one else at TE, how in the world can anyone even claim he doesn't deserve the tag? People are making no sense!!!

Sounds greedy and selfish to me.

Exactly. Granted it's not common to use the tag on a player like Schultz, but if they had nobody else they needed it for them why not?

NFL players in general are consistently getting very bad advice from their agents.

And who else do we have that even came close to warranting the tag? I mean, the logic of slamming the tag of Schultz completely escapes me.

What I'm hoping is that if Schultz keeps insisting on some ginormous payday, that we stand firm and let the backups play if that's his stand.

I doubt very much that the idea was ever to accept one year only and be satisfied with that. Usually when the tag is used is that it is meant to buy some time to work on a longer term deal. I suspect Schultz is looking for some progress on that.

11 mil guarantee an average te and he's complaining, cool
He’s a scrub too. His replacement was already drafted. Good riddance. The guy has one season where he looks like he can be an NFL backup and he acts like he’s Tony Gonzalez.

I said (I'm sure most said it) with Zeke as soon as you start rewarding guys with contracts for sitting out that you are going to guarantee that a bunch of guys to do the same in the future. I don't care about OTAs, but if he holds out from camp screw him. Sit out and make nothing. I'm tired of giving in to players who sit out and certainly to ones who are asking for contracts that I hope the team doesn't give. I'm not sure his demands but I'm willing to bet they are more than I think he is worth
