Hahahaha. Hypocrite.

There's a REASON he signed the tag so soon......because he wanted the security of it not being pulled.

Anyone ever think it may be better for the team overall to take away Daks security blanket?

Who knows what happens from here but I'm a hell if a lot more excited about Ferguson than I was about Schultz at the same point in time.

Still waiting for someone to make a legit point about what makes Schultz worthy of that kind of money.....and I mean that from the exact opposite of a fantasy football point of view where a dump off catch nets you a point. Yay.

8 Tds would net you how many points in FF?

FYI- Among TEs

3rd in catches
6th in yards
5th in tds
3rd in catches for first downs.
5th in targets.

Quite honestly, I'm surprised Schultz (or his agent?) thinks he has enough leverage to hold out for a new contract.

If he didn't have Dump Down Dak as his QB, Schultz would be a JAG and out of the league in 3 years

At the moment, I think this is close to the furthest thing from holding out. Voluntary practice? C'mon.

Well, I just got my guy to hate for the year. The last two years it’s been Connor Williams. Now that he’s gone it will be Shultz. He’s a non blocking, slow, non athletic dime a dozen tight end. In all honesty, he’s not worth 6 million per year. And I’m the guy who thinks players should get paid as much as possible. But Shultz just isn’t good. He’s pulled the wool over everyone’s eyes. He single handedly has cost us games because of his poor excuse for blocking. I hope Ferguson has a monster rookie year!

Will enjoy seeing Schultz and Ferguson on the field together.

Cowboys should sit tight and let the season play out. If Schultz can come close to duplicating 2021’s production he’ll be good in the open market. Fergy is a Schultz clone; we’ll be set for 2023.

Nothing like running up your numbers in division blowouts.

I'll say it again....his numbers are way more about our QBs fears and the WR that had to be accounted for than Schultz himself.

He’s average.

Yeah, Dump Down Dak passed for almost 4,500 yards, a franchise record 37 TDs and a 104.2 passer rating...all on "Dump down" passes.

:facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:

Yeah, facts do not matter to people with an agenda. Facts like:
  • Dak had the same yards per attempt (7.5) as Justin Herbert and higher than Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes (both 7.4)
  • Dak tied for #7 in 20+ yard completions (55) with Aaron Rodgers and had more than Justin Herbert (54) and Josh Allen (51)
Just so people don’t accuse me of cherry-picking stats, these (the two above and one below) are the most relevant stats to this discussion from the NFL’s QB stats page. Also, to prove that I am not just showing the most positive stats:
  • Dak tied for #16 in 40+ yard completions (7), lower than most of the “top QBs” but he was not that far off in this stat either. The QBs mentioned above, in order, Justin Herbert (#2 with 15), Patrick Mahomes (#4 with 11), Tom Brady (tied at #5 with 10), and Josh Allen (tied at #14 with 8)
Don’t get me wrong, Dak struggled mightily in the last half of the year, but despite that he still put up very competitive numbers that SHOULD prevent names like “dunk down Dak”.

Yes, his 7 catches for 89 yards vs SF was pathetic.

Always have to bash Dak, no matter the topic. This thread is about Dalton Schultz, not Dak. Right though...Dak is not allowed to have a dependable outlet...he must always throw the boll 30 yards down the field or he is garbage.
