Hey Jerry....

If you had your Cowboys up to scratch you'd never hear a PEEP about a DFW expansion team.

But you're the best man for the job. We know.

Never let it go.
I haven’t read anything that it has anything to do with the Cowboys success or lack of.

It’s basically about promoting what’s about to become the 3rd largest metro area in the US only behind NY and LA who both have 2 NFL franchises.

The San Antonio / Austin central Texas area will get a team long before Dallas gets a second one.

Hmmm.....the problem is, a person with his ailment just loves being talked about. Positive or negative is a non factor.
Unfortunately nothing has deterred him. The bigger factor is we live and breath football in this state. And he’s benefitted from two generations of fans who grew up with championship pedigree .

There’s no interest in Austin as they are pro Longhorns. It’s a pure college town. One of the biggest.

San Antonio isn’t as attractive because they aren’t a highly fluent income area. With no big corporate entities like in Dallas and Houston limits sponsorship and box ticket sales to higher end market. Definitely a blue collar town with its biggest interest tourism.

Im not sure everyone realizes how big and wealthy the Dallas metro area has become?

I think locals would support both teams. One would probably be in AFC much like in NY and LA. And probably wouldn’t even share the same stadium as they have to.

It would just provide wealthy corporations and affluent clientele another venue. The stadiums could be up to a 100 miles apart in North Texas. Regardless I think it would promote how this area has become one of the biggest markets in the country.

Even for someone who grew up and lived most of my life in or around this area it’s mind blowing to know it’s exploded in last couple decades to the 3rd largest metro area only behind NY and LA.

does the mayor have a drinking problem? Why would you put another team in the same city. I know "New Jersey" does it and the raiduhhs and niners were close but it just doesn't seem right.

Dallas has had 2 professional football teams before.

It’s not that much of a stretch especially considering the DFW metro area is soon to become the 3rd largest in US only behind NY and LA who both have 2 NFL franchises.

the chargers should have never moved. spanos is a worse owner than jerry lol remember when the chargers couldn't even fill that tiny soccer stajum before the new place was built? Qualcom used to be great despite being old

That mayor must not follow the Cowboys and, in turn, Jerry's ways very closely. If he did, he'd know better than to even to there! :muttley:

Austin alone is larger than several cities that currently have NFL teams. Significant wealth in the area too, although I'm not sure how big of a factor that even is. Add in San Antonio and all parts in between, and this is a massive untapped market. Maybe it's not too likely, but it's far more likely than a second team in Dallas.

Fortunately Jethro doesn’t have the last word. And new expansion franchises or even an existing one relocating only requires 75% approval of NFL owners.
Are 75% of the owners going against Jones if this proposal even just comes up for a dicussion phase?

Oh, I'm really buying into a fully - fool point of view...as well as the most expensive sporting organization in the world edging on fully irresponsible.

Don’t understand this logic. You do realize DFW needs over 2 million more people than Chicago land to make this claim. Allot can happen in the future. A recession maybe coming. Areas can lose population when industries suffer. Im not saying its going to happen here. I just think it’s premature to make such a statement. The DFW needs the population of Cincinnati and Boston to come close.

I'd much rather see an NFL franchise awarded to South Central Texas i.e. the Austin-San Antonio Corridor.
4.5 million residents now, and projected to incease to 6.5 to 7 million by 2030.
Plus - it would create a third NFL fanbase distinct from the Cowboys and Texans.

Yea this isn’t happening either. Both Jerry and McNair’s widow would fight it. Plus I doubt the NFL is excited about adding another US franchise.

Since Texas have irrevalent in college football for the last decade-plus (and it appears that's not going to change anytime soon) - a contingent of dissatisfed Longhorn fans, along with San Antonians and people not interested in college football - could rally and put forth a great effort to bring a third NFL team to their growing area.

A team in Rio de Janeiro or Dallas, GA is more likely
