As the owner my job is to be involved in everything from jocks to socks. I’m the owner, you are nothing more than a paid employee. Can we coexist, sure but as the owner I will make all of the ultimate decisions. Musk is much the same way, involved in every single detail.
As the owner of an NFL franchise my first and most important job is to hire qualified people that give us the best chance to win a championship. Then empower them to do their jobs, hold them accountable for results. Like the winning owners of the last 26 SBs have realized and done.

The saddest thing about all this is Jerry’s arrogant pettiness cheapens the Ring of Honor. Grudges should never get in the way of doing the right thing for people who accomplished great things for the Cowboys. It’s not about Jerry or any one player or coach. It’s about a storied franchise.

This is exactly the kind of foolishness that has held this franchise back for nearly 3 decades. Jerry’s personal feelings are more important to him than what’s right for this once great organization. He cheapens it every day with this kind of behavior.

Jerry won't say "over my dead body", but he may as well be saying it.

WHAT ABOUT THE RING OF HONOR?

“Nothing determined out there at all. That’s something that I’ve never really decided upon almost until a week or two before I do it.”

REALLY?

“Really. No, I’ve never been something that’s had a long tail to it thought process. Obviously the people are qualified are career qualified. So, that is a career process. But as far as the timing of any individual that will ultimately in that Hall of Fame, I don’t have that.”

YOU TALKED ABOUT JIMMY JOHNSON GETTING IN

“I understand that. I really understand that would be a part of the question, but the answer is I don’t have a timeline.”

What an a-hole. Why not try to be true to your word and put him in already. Put it behind you.

What a bitter old man who literally has everything but cannot basically thank the one who helped get him there.

I wonder why people don't like Jerry?

Jerry has always offered verbal excuses for his refusal to put Jimmy in the Ring of Honor. His jealousy over Jimmy getting the glory, while his personal contributions weren't respected to his liking, has long tortured him. To Jerry, it's an unforgiveable slight that might haunt him for the rest of his life. o_O

It has only cheapened the ROH in your mind. No one else gives it a second thought. It is small potatoes in the whole scheme of things and it is certainly small potatoes in Cowboys football. I am more concerned about the rookies, I could give two ….. about the ROH. Typical of today, Good Morning America what can we be upset about today?!

This thread suggests a lot of people do care about the ROH and how this plays out.

Enough with the Jimmy into the ROH crap, it's the least thing on the list for us, really personally it doesn't make me one bit of difference if Jimmy is put into the ring or not, I don't give a skit!!! I am more focused on wins, championships and rings

In so many words: Over my dead body!
IMHO..it will be one of two "dead bodies":
Jones passes first - his children will succumb to the mounting pressure and induct Johnson.

If Johnson dies away first -- Jones will honor him posthumously - and will go "whole hog" (pun intended) with the ceremony - with him being the MC.

WOW, 66 replies. Yep the whole world is thinking about this nonsense. It means absolutely Zero in my life, if Jerry is living rent free in your head as is obvious weekly and he is causing you to lose sleep I suggest you Find another hobby.

I am focused on winning as well and don't like distractions.
I also don't like us not honoring a former HOF coach
Who was a large part of 3 of our SBs.

I wonder if he passes away he tells Stephen to never allow any credit to Jimmy in any official Cowboys capacity.

1. Yes, to exclude Jimmy from the ring.
ALSO
2. To never allow San Austinio to have an NFL team
3. To name the next metroplex airport or canal after Jerry.
4. To one day soon start an ex-Razorback as Cowboys QB.
5. To hire a full-time paternity lawyer and P.I. for the family.

I bestow one of the greatest franchise honors on a whim. Simple.

You say it means zero to you, and yet you have posted 5 times here.

That is what it really is about - Dallas Cowboys Fans getting the opportunity to show their gratitude in person -- and it being recognized on a nationally-televised game...plus the week leading up to it.

Blimey Willie cats!
Me thought is that Jimmy prefers to be shunned to prove how much Jerry resents success not his own. If Jimmy is denied, Jimmy wins the hearts of all Cowboy fans.

Yes sir!
We should honor our own.
It's sad that the NFL has given Jimmy the highest honor possible, and our team that benefited ftom his contribtions can't do the same.
It's disgraceful.

Once Jerry wins a Super Bowl all by himself he will mysteriously have a change of heart.

Even him putting on Jimmy’s HOF ring was awkward.

Just saw the SEC Storied documentary on ESPN called “Before They Were Cowboys” all about that Arkansas team that won the National Championship with Jimmy and Jerry playing. Really sad how those two fell apart. Even Jerry told the interviewer the first thing Barry Switzer did after being hired was ask where Jimmy was because he wanted to sit both of his former players down and ask them how the hell they could screw up such a good thing.
