I was born in Edinburgh, Scotland. My uncle played semi pro football, which is called soccer in the U.S. It was the first team sport I ever learned to play.
I spent the first 12 years of my life in Europe, mostly Edinburgh and the island of Crete off the coast of Greece. Most likely, I've crossed more oceans than you have telephone poles.
Personally, I find the "world version" of football to be boring, redundant, uneventful, and overly simplistic. After coming to the U.S., the more i learned about American football, the more I realized just how overrated soccer was.
If I may be so bold, many Brits seem to believe that whatever they find amusing should be universally accepted as superior. I find it a rather tedious affliction. ....Oliver.
