His D was certainly a big reason the Giants won those Super Bowls but they were behind in both games until Ely brought them back in the closing seconds. Some of you continue to try and take credit away from him.

And without the one in "1 million" fluke helmet catch, Eli never sniffs the HOF which is now virtually inevitable.

I’m not about to waste my time getting into another Eli Manning argument. I have no issue being honest about the guy. His regular season performances weren’t great but he got it done in the playoffs and Super Bowl. That one in a million catch never even happens if Eli doesn’t avoid what should have been a sack. He made another spectacular play to Manningham in the Giants second Super Bowl win against New England.

It's embarrassing that anyone would even defend the very average Eli as a true HOF player.
He will get in, but that guy spent every year of his career being average or slightly above it.

In every measurable....average or slightly above. And that was vs his peers at the time, so no bias due to era, but pure comparables.

I do give him great credit for being able to stay healthy though.

As for playoffs....people forget that he also has the most one-and-dones of any QB.
Some of the worst playoff QBing in NFL history in some of those years.

It was all or nothing with those teams, I guess.

That we can agree on. If Marino had a run game he probably has more rings than Brady
Marino had the type of idiot ownership that believes it's all about O weapons. Weapons on O don't matter if your D can't get stops. This has played out in the playoffs over the years and is still happening now. Cincy beating was primarily on the D's performance.

He didn't get it done. The D got it done and he was along for the ride. And that is blatantly obvious.

Much worse, some of YOU try to give him credit he does not deserve!!!

Many are in denial with how good Eli played in the playoffs and Super Bowl. Some will never come to grips with it. They’ll argue the Giants won those two Super Bowls because of everyone but him despite the fact he was named MVP in both Super Bowls. His postseason play is why he will be in the Hall of Fame.
Man, you should go back and watch that game. The DLIne that sacked Brady 5 times and hit him numerous times was the MVP. Eli getting the reward was a huge joke.

His postseason play is not why they'll most likely put him in the HOF. His D is.

They have at least three QBs on that list that will probably never get into the Hall of Fame, Drew Bledsoe, Donovan McNabb and Jim Plunkett but left Sonny Jurgensen off the list who is in the Hall of Fame. Matt Ryan may never get in the Hall of Fame and it’s debatable if Philip Rivers and Matt Stafford will get in. It will come down to their career numbers.
Jurgenson is better than all those you named, and it's not close.

This list is crap! Aikman, Staubach, and Tarkenton on the same level as Eli Manning?!? And a level below Steve Young?!? There are other glaring mistakes, and we all know it’s crap, but c’mon!! With professional graphics and a wide release, there are actually a lot of gullible idiots out there who will read this and form opinions! Totally irresponsible, or is it supporting some twisted agenda?

Nah. Cincy lost because of Aaron Donald. Chase was open. Ramsey was on the floor. Donald just destroyed the interior OL of cincy.

Agree. Regular season he was nothing special at all. Playoffs he had two incredible runs, defense certainly helped.

The Giants won 2 Superbowls during the Romo era and Tony still had a better head to head record vs Peyton's goofy brother.
Romo was considered a better QB over the entirety of his career than Eli. There were a couple of blips where Eli was rated higher for a very short time the season after the Giants won the super bowl, but those did not last long.
