  • The worst days in my life as a sports fan:
    • Bears 44, Cowboys 0.
    • Erik Williams car wreck.
    • Romo stopped short of the goalline after the botched snap.
    • The Patrick Crayton Drop.
    • Keeping Doug Free and letting Parnell sign with Jacksonville. ;)
    • Travis Frederick retiring.
  • The worst things not directly involving the Cowboys:
    • Eli winning 2 Super Bowls.
    • Tom Brady being born.
You forgot in the second bulletpoint the Eagles winning a superbowl.:igglestrophy:
Lets all hope the Commanders won't do it in these 26+ years because then it is humiliating at that point.

Tom Landry fired.

Jerry Jones buys the Cowboys.

Jimmy Johnson leaves.

Barry Switzer hired.

Landry being fired and Jerry taking over as owner were two of the better moments for me. No disrespect to Tom Landry but it was time for him to go. It led to 3 Super Bowl wins so no complaints from me. If Landry being fired and Jerry taking over as owner was a bad time for you I’m surprised you mentioned Jimmy leaving as bad moment because he would’ve never been the head coach had Landry stayed on and Jerry never took over as owner.

1. Dwight Clark Catch--threw a tantrum like you wouldn't believe after that one. Ripped all the pillows off the couch and threw them in the air. I was 7 at the time.
2. Blowing a 13-3 season and HFA throughout the playoffs losing to the Giants in 2007.
3. Doing the same thing against the Packers in 2016.
4. The "Danny, No!" Game. That one sucked.
5. Jimmy Johnson no longer the coach.

Smith dropping the TD pass from Roger in the SB
Losing both SBs to the Squealers.
Roger retiring when he still had tread on the tires.

You guys don’t know pain, until you’ve lived through Lynn Swan and Bradshaw dunking on you in the Super Bowl, Dwight Clarke making the catch from Montana or Aaron Rodgers…pick a playoff game.

But they’ve also given us tons of good times!

Dacade+ of this goofball and the genius who kept him employed

He will forever leave a scar historically on this franchise, what a waste of time and talent.

Only one thing, Booger buying the team. I would gladly give up the 3 additional rings if that were to have never happened and we don't really know what would have happened had someone else bought it.

I had no problem with Landry, Brandt and Schramm being gone as they had a great run but everything has a life. The party had passed them by.

It's not about the 26 years because I do not need that to be a content fan. It is about him slapping his ugly face on my team and turning it into some kind of caricature that he could exploit for his own ego. Neither Yankees fans had this with Steinbrenner or the Raiders with Crazy Al. Cowboys fans have had to endure something no other fans have ever had to experience.

Other than that, I never had a negative experience with this team that I couldn't find numerous positives to counter that. And to this day, no other record matches the 20 winning seasons in a row. It was both blessing and curse because it could not help but turn those of us around at that time into entitled fans. For a while there, I didn't think we should win; I thought we deserved to win.

I didn't watch them play; I watched them to win and felt cheated if they didn't. I had to learn how to be a realistic fan. I was that dog with his butt in the sunshine every day and used to it. Took me some time to get to the "it is just a game" point where I could truly enjoy it.

And while I do what I can to avoid exposure to that pathetic old fool, it has become increasingly difficult. Might be time to add Booger's face and voice to death and taxes.

I would pay to have those images erased from my mind.

I could’ve lived with it if one of those moments with that dumb grin and all that slapping at players would’ve been in a Super Bowl.

Those are all good ones and I share them, but The Catch was pretty awful, and the Dez Bryant non-catch was awful too. I think both of those season the Cowboys could have won a Super Bowl had those two plays gone Dallas's way.
