So wasn't sure if I was supposed to post this in the comics or rate a movie thread, but this thread seemed better since I have a lot of spoiler questions about Dr. Strange 2.

I'll be honest, I saw it Friday night and wasn't happy with it, but I'd also been flying all day and worn out.

Saw it Saturday night again, helped me understand a few things I missed the first viewing and being in a better mood and more energy, my opinion of movie raised from decent to good.

Some questions for you experts. Thanks in advance for the answers:

1. Is the evil Dr. Strange he fights and kills the same one from the What If? cartoon?

2. Is the female Captain America the same from aforementioned What If? series?

3. Did Scarlett Witch go bad in her TV show? I only saw the first 3 episodes. Seems like she was already a villain and set him up to begin with? Does the show have her getting that book that makes her evil?

4. Are Blackbolt, Professor X, any of those Illuminati the same ones from the other movies/shows, or are these different reality roles?

5. Where did this America Chavez come from? I don't remember her from any comics? Is she from another show?

6. Who is the lady at end credit scene in blue who goes with Doctor Strange? I know who the actress is, but who is the character? Don't recognize her at all.

7. For those that keep up with the news, is it official then that the guy from The Office is the new Reed Richards? Good choice if so!

8. And what happened to the rumor I read that Tom Cruise was going to be an alternate universe Iron Man in the movie? Or even that Iron Man (Downey) was coming back? Is Robert Downey Jr's Iron Man out for good?

9. Did any of this tie into the Loki series and I missed it? I did see that entire series and thought there would be more links between the two. I also thought they might bring in some Shang-Chi stuff since they were in temples in Asia again, and maybe they did, and I just didn't recognize it.

10. Not a question, but going to have to go back now and watch Dr. Strange 1. For some reason I thought Christine was dead. Maybe because I'm remembering the What If? episode where she does die? Boy, Marvel is starting to get complicated. I have to re-watch some movies and tv shows now to keep up with the drama. LOL

That's a lot to unwrap, but let me just say, I disagree with #7. I thought he was a terrible choice.

Also, there are infinite universes, so there's no way to know if any of them are the same ones you've seen, short of one of the characters assigning a universe number to both.

My answer: No, although it could be a similar one. The multiverse is infinitely vast, along with the untold variations of Dr. Strange.

2. Is the female Captain America the same from aforementioned What If? series?
My answer: Yes. Same alternate Peggy Carter.

3. Did Scarlett Witch go bad in her TV show? I only saw the first 3 episodes. Seems like she was already a villain and set him up to begin with? Does the show have her getting that book that makes her evil?
My answer: Yes. The (multiple) loss of The Vision and her brother drove her into having a mental breakdown. Her children deepen her emotional state (you must watch the show to know more). She was already committing evil acts in the community she settled in (again, you must watch the show to know more). How Wanda got possession of the Darkhold is not really a spoiler in my opinion (although you should watch the rest of the series) but the book does not make her evil even though it does project an evil influence.

4. Are Blackbolt, Professor X, any of those Illuminati the same ones from the other movies/shows, or are these different reality roles?
My answer: All Illuminati characters are from alternate realities including Charles Xavier. Ironically, his hoverchair is the best clue. Even the chair seen before Wolverine goes back in time during X-Men: Days of Future Past is different. Probably should consider the Xavier seen in two Saturday morning animated series as the one seen in DS2.

5. Where did this America Chavez come from? I don't remember her from any comics? Is she from another show?
My answer: Chavez is not from another show. This is her introduction into the MCU. Marvel created the character in mid-July of 2011. She has since become a major heavy hitter for Marvel. I recommend reading her In Comics Profile on Marvel.com.

6. Who is the lady at end credit scene in blue who goes with Doctor Strange? I know who the actress is, but who is the character? Don't recognize her at all.
My answer: Her name is Clea and she is a major figure from Dr. Strange's comic book franchise. I will say this. Bad Wanda was bad. Seeing Charlize Theron is NOT a good omen at all lol.

7. For those that keep up with the news, is it official then that the guy from The Office is the new Reed Richards? Good choice if so!
My answer: There is always a chance but I have never given it much credence because of the nature of the multiverse. I think John Krasinski's cameo will be a one-shot only.

8. And what happened to the rumor I read that Tom Cruise was going to be an alternate universe Iron Man in the movie? Or even that Iron Man (Downey) was coming back? Is Robert Downey Jr's Iron Man out for good?
My answer: Cruise was approached to play the role but he turned it down. I think it is because he does not want to be seen as "another Robert Downey Jr." He has never put himself in that type of copycat position before (to my knowledge). I *think* there is a remote chance of seeing Downey again because his armor technology or similar technology will remain within the MCU. The future Disney+ Ironheart series is one example. Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever is another example. However, I seriously doubt Downey will return to the role in a sustained capacity.

My answer: Yep. The entire Loki series is based on the multiverse premise being established in Phase 4. All of America Chavez's portaling reinforced the premise.

I believe the "Asian stuff" was coincidential. The same can be seen in the original Dr. Strange film and throughout the history of his comic book series.

As far as expectations of Shang-Chi are concerned, I would recommend fast-forwarding ot the 2:01 mark of his movie. It is the first ending credits cut scene. In it, we see the Avengers and Wong examining his Rings. The examination uncovered the Rings were emitting a beacon. Captain Marvel observed that the Rings were "not like any technology she has ever seen."

Going by the Captain's words, I would say the beacon is not directed at Kree space. Sh'iar space is unlikely until the X-Men are put into place in the MCU. It is not Skrull space or Danvers would have recognized it.

There IS a race that co-inhabits the Andromeda galaxy where The Skrull Empire is situated though. That race is the Makluans. AND they visited Earth thousands of years ago. AND they are the creators the Rings technology. The Mandarin found those Rings (albeit much smaller than the ones seen in the movie).

Just spit-balling but methinks these comic book ties may be transferred to any of the space/cosmic MCU movie franchises like Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain Marvel or Eternals. And it would not surprise me if a particular Makluan, Fin Fang Foom, makes an eventual appearance in the Shang-Chi sequel.

My reply: My advice is to identify anything and everything you see in the What If series as possibilities. Stephen was driving alone in his car when he had the accident that destroyed his surgical ability in the movie. That's why she was able to save his life later in the same movie. Conversely, Christine and Stephen were in the car together when the accident happened in the What If episode.

Now, Captain Britian IS an example of a What If possibilities inserted into the MCU. However, anyone would know that Peggy Carter was not the Agent Carter seen in the first three MCU phases. The Illuminati member is not Steve Rogers after all.

I would not say he was a terrible choice. I believe he was a Kevin Feige choice to both appease and tease the actor's fans.

I think he's a terrible choice to play the role in any future incarnations of F4, IMO. His whole look is wrong, and the way he emotionlessly droned on about things Reed should be passionate about made it seem like he didn't even want to be playing the part

Both disagree and agree based on my 'look like tarzan/act like jane' philosophy about casting. He had the look of Dr. Richards but, like you, did not think he pulled off the persona. Quite frankly, Ioan Gruffudd did a better job in my book.

Casting is a big deal for me. I knew for YEARS Ryan Reynolds would be perfect as Hal Jordan/Green Lantern AND Wade Wilson/Deadpool after seeing him in Blade: Trinity. Man was I wrong about the former. Reynolds' Jordan sucked and his superhero attempt was too often flippant. He hit a grand slam as the latter combo though.

I pasted the options into a spreadsheet and stared at it for about 15 minutes. I could not make any definitive choices. Gotta hand it to you. This was the best head scratcher you have posted as far as I am concerned.

So, I turned to Marvel.com and Marvel.Fandom.com for their power grid assessments. Fighting Skills was the main criteria I chose, with Energy, Intelligence, Durability and Speed being the second, third, fourth and fifth tie-breakers, respectively.

Neither site created power grids for Thunderer (Lei-Kung), Moving Shadow, White Tiger (Angela Del Toro) and Zhou Cheng, so I either guess-timated or base lined their abilities. I did make the first two Fighting Skills equal to Iron Fist and the second two's Fighting Skills equal to Daredevil though. At first, I was surprised at the results (especially Blade) but eventually decided it is not far off what I would have come up with. I mean AFTER I would have finally started on a subjective ranking. hand to hand combat, grapping, boxing , etc.

I saw the articles and links make mention of Collin Wing, who is related with Iron Fist comics .and she also is
a member of the Daughters of the Dragon, and a martial artist discipline,
but i think she's faint in comparisons to the aforementioned accomplished martial artists.

Hector Ayala survived an ambush shooting, thru help of the amulets, but eventually was shot down dead while
trying to escape prison in a panic, where he was wrongly accused and framed, shortly before Matt Murdock discovered evidence
that surely could've freed Hector of the accused crime.

Hector was one of the members of a martial arts clan called Sons of the Tigers from the Deadly Hands of Kung ** classic magazine of the 70's.

I thought you might have been referring to Hector in your list. Just my opinion but I think his niece was the better White Tiger.

Of course, Angela's Aunt Aya may be the best pure fighter of the three. She is not a martial artist per se though.

It is true swordplay supplements her and her hand-to-hand martial art is not on par with some of her peers but Marvel grades both combined as a 6 out of 7 in Fighting Skills. Wing can more than hold her own in a brawl. Plus, Jessica Henwick is arguably the best thing about the Iron Fist series.

However, I realized that, even though the Marvel Cinematic Universe began in 2008 with Iron Man, there have been film adaptations and television series since that year that are not part of the MCU like the X-Men, Andrew Garfield Spider-Man, Deadpool, etc., movies.

And even though the DC Extended Universe began a year after The Dark Knight Rises in 2013 with Man of Steel, it has exceptions also like Joaquin Reeves' Joker and recently The Batman.

So I understand now why Bale and others might be lost about the distinctions. He may have been even more confused if he had starred in a Warner Bros movie after his last Batman film. "What the <expletive> is the DCEU?"

Can Darkseid Still Be The Big Bad Of The DCEU?

One of the biggest villains in DC Comics is the ruler of Apokolips known as Darkseid. This tyrannical ruler of the desolate planet is a member of the New Gods species and is feared by just about everyone. Superman himself is actually afraid to fight this villain and he has every reason to be. The villain’s signature power is his Omega Beams that shoots from his eyes. Just think of them as heatseeking laser beams that can keep up with the Flash and when they hit their target, they disintegrate it completely. He has used his Omega Beams on his most powerful adversaries, including Superman himself. Any villain who is capable of making Superman bleed should be taken very seriously. If you need more convincing, go watch the animated Superman series. You’ll soon realize why Darkseid is one of DC’s best villains.

If you’ve been a DC fan for the longest time, then you’ve probably been waiting for Darkseid to make his live-action debut. That was originally supposed to happen in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, but that didn’t happen. At least not in the beginning. While the lord of Apokolips was briefly mentioned in the 2017 Justice League movie, that was the only reference. Fans were vastly underwhelmed by the uninteresting and CGI-heavy Steppenwolf. He was ultimately a lackey villain invading Earth on Darkseid’s behalf. As we all remember, it didn’t strike the landing.

Ms. Marvel Directors Adil El Arbi And Bilall Fallah Compare Their Work In The MCU To Their Upcoming Batgirl

Some incredibly talented directors have burst onto the cinematic scene as of late, and Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are definitely a part of that group. The duo has been making movies for the past several years, but they truly rose to prominence when they helmed Bad Boys for Life. More recently, they’ve made their way into the superhero genre with Marvel Studios’ Ms. Marvel (which is currently available to those with Disney+ subscriptions). And even before the show was released, they’d already been tapped to direct Warner Bros. and DC Films’ Batgirl. The two comic book adaptations certainly have their similarities and differences, but how exactly do they compare? Well, El Arbi and Fallah have spoken to that.

Kamala Khan and Barbara Gordon are somewhat alike. They’re both capable young women with a desire to fight the good fight and are passionate about protecting their respective cities. However, they both have different power sets, with Khan’s being more energy-based (in the Marvel Cinematic Universe) and Gordon’s more reliant on her fighting skills and gadgets. When I spoke with Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah during the press junket for Marvel Studios’ latest TV venture, I couldn’t help but ask about how the series informed their approach to the upcoming DC movie. Avengers: Endgame Director Joe Russo Fan Casts Chris Evans As Live-Action Wolverine

In the opinion of Joe Russo, Chris Evans has what it takes to be a one-man multiverse, as the Avengers: Endgame director recently threw his support behind the idea of the Captain America actor trading in his shield for Wolverine’s signature berserker rage.

Russo shared his fan casting for the X-Men’s resident Canucklehead during a June 23rd appearance on ComicBook.com’s Marvel Cinematic Universe-centric Phase Zero podcast made alongside his brother, Anthony, in promotion of their upcoming Netflix film, The Gray Man.

At one point asserting “Marvel’s doing it, DC’s doing it, everybody’s doing multiverse stories”, host Brandon Davis then inquired of the Russos, “If you had to work with Evans on another Marvel film, from the Multiverse, as a different character, who are you putting him in the movie as?”, to which Joe quickly declared, “Wolverine”.

Is The Flash the perfect opponent for either hurting or killing Darkseid?

Scenario: Darkseid pinpoints Barry Allen. He shoots his Omega Beam at him. The Flash reacts and starts zig zagging all around but the Omega Beam keeps pace right behind him.

Barry makes a sharp turn and runs straight at Darkseid. He smiles, probably says, "You're dead.".

The speedster vibrates his body's molecules straight through Darkseid. He cannot react fast enough and gets hit with his own Omega Beam.
