Saw this in my paper this morning and thought I'd share. Interesting rankings and tiers.

"NFL ELITES" tier Put these QBs on any team and they are likely advancing to the postseason:
1. Mahomes
2. Josh Allen
3. Rodgers
4. Brady
5. Stafford
6. Dak. Prescott catches a lot of flak because of the franchise he plays for, and the expectations that brings. But there are stretches of games, and seasons when the 28-year-old seems unstoppable. The playmakers around him have changed a bit, and his offensive line and tailback are aging, so Prescott probably has a two-year window to win a championship in Dallas.
"THE DOOR-KNOCKERS" Tier
7. Russell
8. Watson
9. Burrow
10. Jackson
11 Herbert
12. Carr
"IN THE WAITING ROOM" Tier
13. Murray
14. Jimmy G
15 Cousins
16 Tannehill
17Tua
18. Hurts
19. Mac Jones

He does more but for this post, that's what I'm going to share.

Yup.

This is the worst one I've seen, but he is entitled to his opinion.

Burrow 9th and Herbert 11th? lol

Also, in terms of Dak, you can't both be "elite" and only have a 2 year window because of the talent around you. Truly elite QBs ARE the window and will be the window regardless of the players around him.

That's why Mahomes, Brady, and Rodgers are the only real elite QBs in the NFL.

Those three are elite but they have help. Kelce and Hill are elite. Mike Evans and Godwin are studs. Adams in GB and Dillon and Jones are monsters in the running game.

Interesting list. Generally accurate. Not seeing Allen in front of Rodgers and Brady, but its a good list. I put Burrows and Herbert above Watson and Jackson.

Just someone's opinion. Don't mean squat being we ALL have our own opinions. Fans forget players don't win championships. Good coaching does. Older Cowboys fans are well aware of that fact. Younger generation, not so much!

dak is a good quarterback he is not in the top five which are the elite qb's he is in the bottom half of the top ten more than likely dak will never advance a team to the championship game the elites are brady holmes rodgers and josh allen and joe borrow is right there close to those guys dak has been in the league long enough that he pretty much is what he is a qb capable of winning some preseason games when when it comes to the playoffs he pretty much along with the rest of team chokes it is what it is

What did they win before Brady showed up?

What did Kelce and Hill win before Mahomes?

My point is that they are good players, but truly elite QBs take things to the next level. A truly elite QB makes your window much bigger.

Russell isn't a door knocker, he's already won a SB. Josh Allen is a door knocker. Russell should be 5th and Allen 6th.
7) Burrow
8) Watson
With Jackson, Herbert, and Dak tied for 9th.

I don’t disagree with that but let’s not kid ourselves and pretend like elite QBs take trash teams to the playoffs with trash coaching. It just doesn’t happen.

We can’t keep putting Russ in there based on what he didn when the Legion of Boom was together. Russ is years away from being elite. Maybe that changes this year but he has not been elite at all these past few years. Allen had a great run last year but I think he needs one more year to show he’s elite. Watson….he has bigger issues at hand. Surely wouldn’t call him elite.

No, but it's a lot easier for your team to consistently be competing if your QB is elite.

Do you think the Packers would have just as much success without Rodgers the past few years? Even though they didn't win they still were always right there. I don't believe they are there without Rodgers as their QB. His elite abilities was difference.

I think people specifically on this site use the “elite quarterbacks don’t need elite talent” argument to discredit Dak which is not necessary. Dak isn’t elite yet. We know that whole title is subjective to whoever is speaking at the time. You need to have great stats and have a great playoff record. I get it. Dak’s not there yet.

But we really need to kill the myth that Rodgers, Brady and Mahomes have never had elite players or coaches on their teams. You don’t win a ring without it. It’s just how it is.

Russell has one of the prettiest deep balls I've seen in recent memory. The guy can launch it from anywhere on the field. I don't think he's faded, I think the team around him faded. Struggles on the defensive side of the ball and struggles on the offensive line have caused him problems.

Rodgers won the same amount of playoff games as Dak last year and did it at Lambeau with the best receiver in the league. Packers have some great individual players. Yes it’s easier. No doubt. It’s much easier to win with Rodgers than Taylor Heniecke. But to win the actual ring? You need elite outside of quarterback. It’s why Eli has two rings. Elite pass rush..

Yes.

But if you can't get what Eli had then you're screwed if your QB is like Eli.

A QB with the talent of Rodgers makes it to where your team does not have to have what Eli had. They can still compete and win. They won't always win, of course, but they will more times than not be a threat and a contender.

So if the talent fades and he fades with it….he’s still elite?
