Not enough Elite QB’s to go around

In the NFL once you get passed the top 4-6 Elite HOF caliber QB’s the rest of the league has to build around what’s left. There’s never going to be enough Elite QB’s to fill 32 teams .

The good news is there is usually another 10-15 QB’s good enough to build around you can win with and contend for the playoffs with. And that’s really all you can hope for .

There is simply not enough Elite QB’s coming out in the draft every year to position yourself to try and land one if you don’t have one . They only come around ever so often. And even if you do land one it’s not a guarantee while it of course does make it easier to build around .

And why it’s silly to bash your QB if he’s near the middle to upper half of the league . This is what most teams have to work with.

I think most Cowboy fans realize Dak isn’t Elite. He falls more in this middle to upper half of the league which is what most of the league has to work with.

The teams that have more success with these less than Elite QB’s surround not only them with a strong supporting cast but the teams with more success build top notch defenses .

And this is where the Cowboys have failed overall. It’s where they’ve failed not only with Dak but with Romo too amongst others weaknesses.

I think most on the most part would argue the Cowboys at least offensively have provided Dak a solid supporting cast most of the time and why the offense has for the most Carrie’s this team to what success they have had , much like in Romo era.

But at no point have we had a top 5-10 caliber stout defense . When we look around the league and in recent history this era the teams with less than Elite QB’s that had more success had these stellar defenses .

Look around our division and most of the conference . Once you get past the top 3 Elite we are in arguably as good of shape as anyone at QB.

What we need is a defense like the 49ers.

The real answer in the NFL after the top handful of Elite QB’s is building a defense to slow or stop these QB’s and hope they don’t have a defense good enough to stop yours.

About 20-25% of SBs are won with QBs that aren't normally great, but either had amazing defensive runs and/or got hot themselves for a few games.

You can win it all with any of the top 15 guys. Its just a little better odds with the elite ones. What is really the difference between the guys from 1-5 from 6-10? Its usually team success of earning a SB. Then these guys get propped up like somehow they were the difference.

We can disagree. The ONLY teams with better are the guys with the Rogers, Brady, Mahomes types or the elite types.

Dont forget the coaching. Especially during the romo years the coaching was abysmal with Garrett.

That’s why they are elite
Having an elite QB in the nfl still doesn’t guarantee success or Rodgers would have more rings
Super Bowls are win by teams, not QB’s
If you have a top 10-12 QB you’ve done well but you can’t win the SB unless you have a super bowl quality team
And you can have a top 1-3 QB and you still can’t win if you don’t have a overall good team
We have a QB we can win with if you build enough around him, just like several other teams

Cowboys are set at QB. The strength of our team.

Some fans just don’t get that TEAMS win Super Bowls
QB’s just get the credit and there are plenty of examples of teams winning without a top 5 QB and plenty of examples of all time greats not having near the SB success they would have if it wasn’t more about the team than one player

Well let me say that I put "elite" in quotations because I think the title is a joke. I think the argument is a joke.
To show how much of a joke this argument is.......
Eli Manning has 2 SB rings. He beat Tom Brady TWICE to get those rings. Well...he beat a Tom Brady led team twice and a team who had one of the best coaches of all time coaching it. He made crucial and timely throws to do it. Never was favored to win a SB....took some temas with average seasons to the SB......yet, no one would EVER call him elite.

Justin Herbert and Josh Allen have done NOTHING in this league. Haven't won a SB or even appeared in one. But they are elite. Why? Because they "have a arm".

The elite talk is just ridiculous. Its a term talking heads created to fill air time on slow days.
