If You Could Choose 1 Player In Cowboys History, In Their Absolute Prime To Add To Today's Team

Larry Allen might be my favorite Cowboys ever, but I just don't see him having the same impact on this team as the 90s teams he was on because of how this team is constructed.

We don't have Emmitt running the ball or a coach that wants to be run dominant. I feel like they would just waste him somehow or another, so I picked Deion because we need the defense to be as great as humanely possible with our offense.

true and guard is kind of low on the list of prime time positions.

Who you choosing?

I think with our current team I'm taking Deion and letting him take the other teams best WR out of the game while Diggs ball hawks around with the QB throwing to the leftovers.
I feel like we get this same topic every month and the answers never change.. How about if you could choose a **Non-Hall of Fame player** in Cowboys history and add them to today's team, who would it be??

-Herschel Walker: Like Bo Jackson, he was the perfect blend of speed and power. If he played in his prime today the Cowboys offense would be totally unstoppable.. Not only was he a great runner he was also a weapon receiving the ball {gained 4,859 receiving yards in his NFL career} and for good measure he was a hell of a kick returner {gained 5,084 kickoffs return yards in his NFL career}.

Walker played on some terrible teams.
Just keeping it real.
I love Emmitt btw.

He was traded to a very good Minnesota team in 1989 and didn’t do much there. He was a north-south runner who couldn’t make defenders miss like Emmitt. Walker was a very good player but we didn’t get better with him. The Cowboys 1990 team wasn’t very good but Emmitt was making that team better.

Some of you are passing up players that led the Cowboys to multiple championships that are in the Hall of Fame for players like Tony Romo and Herschel Walker. Yeah, we had some memorable years with them. Lol

Why Herschel Walker over Emmitt Smith? The Cowboys won nothing with Herschel. If I’m going to pick a player I’m going to pick one that led us to a championship.
My point is, we've had this same topic multiple times already, and the same players {deservedly so} are always mentioned. I figure let's change it up a bit and choose a player who isn't a Hall of Famer. A guy like Herschel Walker is a good choice here.. He was a GREAT all around running back.

He would be lucky to make it through half the season before his first concussion behind a very questionable OL.

How? Defenders aren't allowed to breathe on the QB these days. Unless the league determines him to be a "running QB" of course. Aikman would be able to play into his 40s as well in today's like just like Roger would.

Staubach, and it's not close. A QB just has way too much effect on a team to pick any other position.

Yes, but, with a prime Emmitt, there's no telling how far we'd go with the rest of the roster the way it is. Especially if we get a prime Irvin too.

Yep, the same topic comes up every year however my choice or choices never change. I will always pick the player or players that are in the Hall of Fame that we won championships with.

QBs still get hit. Dak has suffered injuries in back to back seasons. Romo played under the same rules and he suffered numerous injuries. Troy had back and concussion issues and he never had to throw the ball much. He would have to throw the ball a lot more these days.
