Then remove the owner and his son from this and make it just about you and your team.

I have seen this for years. "Won't get fooled again" or "I am through buying his snake oil".

Actually blaming him for you doing exactly what you want to do, being a fan. Do you see any logic or rationale to being a fan of a sports team? I do not. It is pure emotion.

Give yourself a break, allow yourself the luxury of being a fan, you can believe whatever you want and hope is not a four letter word, it is the foundation of being a human being.

One thing about the optimists and the pessimists, besides the fact there is no intelligence or knowledge of the game difference between the two. If the season goes poorly, both will be equally disappointed because that pessimist "told you so" card doesn't play well on a fan site. And it surely doesn't make the pessimist feel better.

There is no right or wrong to being as fan, we are all goofy as hell. Doubt that, ask the people, the non-fans, around you.

And ditch the "that's it, I'm through" gyration because no, you are not giving up because you are a fan. You can't help it.

Folks, isn't there enough negative vibe going around in this country without us choosing that? Don't you want to escape that, if even for a short period of time?

If you don't believe or have hope, I am not saying fake optimism but you might give pause to trying to rain on those that are trying to be positive.

At some point in life I realized that negatively focused people are that way because it's their only skill.

On messages boards they don't have enough intelligence to post something informational. Complaining does not require any intelligence.

I think even the saintliest of us, as fans, find it extremely difficult to avoid complaining about the Jones FO now and then. It's the ones who are constantly negative and make a career out of correcting those who offer positive posts that tend to curse this website. This place seems to be an irresistible magnet for the trolls, for some reason. Yet, like it or not, we all come back for more -- we're, obviously, gluttons for punishment.

Start a Happy thread or Silver Lining thread or forum. Let everyone know there’s a safe and happy place for refuge. And anyone who comes in to troll it will be banned from entering.

It would be a garbage dump with nothing but unicorns, rainbows and bunny farts. It would also be a massive ghost town and fail on an epic level.

You do remember when they tried that at DC.com, right? How did that work out again?

...I dont mind the Placebo Pill, CC. Im just glad Dallas football is back. We all know to not expect, TO MUCH from this team. Last year was nice surprise. Maybe will get another.

Cheers and Dallas Placebo Pills on the house.

Yes, silver lining forum.

But if you look thru many of these other sub forums many of them lack activity. A Happy forum would just be another one . I’m all for trying to provide this segment a safe harbor.

That's exactly what it sounded like. He wants his cake and wants to eat it too,
That wasn’t my take.

He just feels if we block out Jethro and just focus on the team then there might not be as much negativity.

But it appears to me there’s much more negativity than just our owner.

Some of us take our football more serious than others.

If you ever want to see the diversity of fandom out there , just attend a game.

No I know, and I take it fairly seriously too, just not to the point where I feel miserable if we lose. Take when I went to see us play Chicago in 2019. Granted, it helped that the game was part of the reason I was in Chicago that weekend. That said, I saw a fair amount of that.

What a ridiculous question to pose to fans. We don't enjoy being miserable. However, there are enough of us that remember the bliss of Super Bowl victory that we are willing to endure this torture of the last 26 years for the chance to experience that bliss again. I guess you could call us football junkies... risking it all for that next Super Bowl victory fix.

This is like someone telling you to keep going to that crappy restaurant and not complaining.
If watching the Cowboys on TV for free wasn't there I would be totally done with them.

I stopped having emotion with this team around 2007.

I think the Jones are great owners. My gripe has been with the coaches and the fact defense and special teams seems to be an afterthought until recently. I’d rather win by 3pts in a low scoring game, but Dallas doesn’t play that game and when’s the last time they screwed a team over on clock management or some kind of sneaky loophole. They want to win straight up playing base defense and I can respect that as well but they get Aced out in the playoffs to cheap shots and not having a solid run game after November.

I wouldn't say anything because everything has at least some thing or things that can be a bit annoying. However, if some find most things about a hobby to be not fun, then maybe it's not a good hobby. Sure, losing for example sucks, but part of the fun is watching and chatting about the game.
I think his point is simply that any unhappiness you feel about anything involving the Cowboys will be exacerbated by the constant and focused picking of the scabs.

No, this is like someone asking you why you continue to go to a restaurant you think is crappy.

It does, if you can manage to complain in a way that gets an intentional laugh.
