Why Can't Dallas Field a Good Offense & Defense At The Same Time

I'll tell you why... They over compensate.. When the offense was putrid, especially the Oline. They used a bunch of resources to fix the line. Problem solved. But the defense got old quick. Then they have to use a whole entire draft to fix the defense.. Things are looking up.. Now we got a old slow Zeke, 1 WR and Oline is looking a mess. Now its time to fix the Offense..

That's about right. But it's not overcompensating. They wait until the draft to do it. They're too slow in acting. They refuse to use trades and free agency. When I say that I mean, to significantly improve the team. Maybe they just don't know what they're doing or are afraid of making a mistake. After the 3 SBs in the early to mid 90s Jerry made a lot of bad mistakes. But he got some good players in here too. But they haven't been doing that since 2012 I think. Now it's just build through the draft. So it takes a few years to get an offense going. By that time the defense deteriorates. Or vice versa.

Yep. The D will peak in 2022, then watch—in 2023 we’ll draft all offense, and we’ll start to come back on that side of the ball. But Dan Quinn will either become HC or leave, and the D won’t be as effective.

this year might be the closest they've come to balanced on both sides.

Yeah, but we might have a rough start. IMO it all hinges on our OL. Our rookie and our left tackle staying healthy. If Tyron stays healthy and our rookie kicks butt, that's a start. That has to happen for Dallas to be successful. Then worry about the rest. I'm not confident at all. But I'm wrong more than I am right. And it's not even close. So I'm hoping this is yet again one of those times.

How can you claim the offense is a mess when they have yet to take the field?

In 2021, the O was top 5, we were 12-5, and we win the NFCE. We’re weeks away from the 2022 preseason, and we’re “a mess”.

Imagine…some people see an improved OL, and are intrigued by the youthful talent potential at WR! Hope…how delusional!

Both were ranked in top 10 last year.

Do you mean good or great?

Can't really isn't the issue. It's "hasn't."

But, I honestly think that's what they're trying to do right now.

The defense is why I feel optimistic about our chances.

Prove that we are a mess.

Some like myself think losing Cooper and Conner were upgrades. Addition by subtraction, if you will. So how are we a mess if we have gotten better cap relief and less potential penalties.

I wouldn’t describe as a mess but when you lose 4 starters in Cooper, Williams, Collins and Gregory you can argue we have lessened our talent . Now whether our draft picks will adequately replace them , that’s still left to be seen .

We can argue the Cap savings was a sound move but we can’t be sure until we begin seeing their development and production. It’s entirely possible we take a step back this year losing 4 starters. Tough to say at this point . But I think it’s a viable argument.

It leaves our OL more questionable pending our replacements. And at WR might certainly miss Cooper with our question marks currently . At DE we could also miss Gregory. Time will tell but there’s certainly an argument to be made 2022 is like a retooling year.

Hopefully these were not only good Cap moves but sound draft picks moving forward. But until the results start coming in it’s only speculation at this point.
