They spent their first pick on the oline.

4/5 top picks were on the offense. They franchised the TE.

For cap hits, the offense ranks 5th, the defense ranks 30th.

The premise of this thread is contrary to reality.
I appreciate the first round OL pick.
Just wish we would have added some OL depth in free agency.

Dak asked for $40Million and he got $40Million., Elite QB money means higher expectations.. Granted this offense isn't as loaded as it was last season, he still has a good assortment of talented players that can help him win.. His assignment is to do the best he can with what he has. If it doesn't work out, then McCarthy will be the "scapegoat" because it's much easier to replace a "figure head" HC instead of a franchise QB.

If it's so many qbs that succeeded with average offensive talent why just name the greatest ever? Is that logical to you?
Not sure what the problem is. SO we have to compare QB's according to YOUR requirements? WHich QB's CAN we use to compare? YOur approved list.

I'm not saying Dak has to be as good as Brady or he sucks. I'm also not saying we can;t win with Dak. I am also not saying we can't use other QB's.

But I think it's ASININE to take him completely off the list. He's the best...so I want to know where we stack up...against the BEST as well as the worst.

That is all, have a good day.

1st round pick isn't good enough?
No it is not.
Its a great start.
But we have a LT that has not played a complete season in 7 seasons.
We have a subpar center.
We got little to no quality proven depth.
We are starting a rookie at LG.
We should have signed a few free agent OL even if they were just for backups.

Because they don't have anything to do with eachother. You're comparing these players as if they were shooting free throws. Their situations were vastly different. Mark Sanchez won 4 playoff games on the road in his first two years, yet no one thought he was a better quarterback than Peyton Manning.

People make these excuses for Manning and Brees because they watched them play. You could see that they were great talents. Peyton I believe is in the HOF. Brees will follow. Dak will not.

Like i said.... the moral to the story is, people have a double standard when it comes to Dak.

Situations are always created different for Dak opposed to other quarterbacks. Ive never seen so many excuses for other 1st and 2nd round quarterbacks, but the same excuses aren't afforded to a 4th round quarterback.

Now can you please tell me the last time you've seen a 4th round pick quarterback with more expectations than other 1st and 2nd round quarterbacks like Dak's situation???

Yeah, I don't really care. It's year 7. You sink again and stay sunk or you finally learn to swim.

I'm sorry that he only has one #1 receiver now instead of two.

I'm sorry that he only has 2 all-pro offensive linemen.

I'm sorry that he has a 1,000 yard rusher that most believe is the 2nd best RB on the team.

I'm sorry that he has a pro-bowl TE.

Boo Hoo. Winners win and losers make excuses.

So they should make no effort to improve. ESP after how we ended this season? Totally illogical.
I completely agree with Dave and Mahomes example was totally accurate.

This is like saying my wife is betting against me Bc she asked me to screw in a light bulb.

Wonder why they only had $700k to spend on a wide receiver. Gee.

How many fourth rounders supplant the most talented qb we ever had only to **** the bed routinely every December when we need him to play like the star they keep telling us he is?

His draft position has absolutely NOTHING to do with the current day.

Those expectations shouldn't be there for Dak. All QBs need a team around them. But I think after you get paid like a hero, expectations automatically follow. And of course any 4th round pick is going to go under more scrutiny than a first rounder. People are always going to say, why did you pay him? They usually don't say that about 1st round picks unless they flat out suck.
