Damn, my bad. I tried to look that up and couldn't find that stat. Yeah Romo was exciting.... too bad those exciting moments didn't keep him from getting his job snatched by Dak.

With that said, other than the false "exciting moment" BS, do you have any of Romo's stats to compare against Dak's stats coming out of college from their rookie year to their 6th season??? Lets use real numbers this time, not mak believe.....

How elite was Mahomes when his Chiefs lost to the Bucs 31-9 in Super Bowl LV in 2021? The Bucs defense was on fire and the Chiefs were playing with 2 backups on their offensive line.

The Rams won Super Bowl LVI with Stafford in 2022. Stafford is a streaky, periodically dominant passer but he is not an elite quarterback. However the Rams offensive and defense line consistently performed above average throughout most of the regular season, particularly in the playoffs. Outstanding offensive lines and great defenses matter!

Our team had an opportunity to win this game against the Broncos but penalites did them in. Last year we were the most penalized team in the NFL. The margin of error is unforgiving in the playoffs. It is only pre-season and the first game manned mostly by some 2nd and third stringers, so no need to panick - but it is concerning to start up where we left off last season with penalties not matter what time of the season.

I’d argue Mahomes was Elite enough to lead KC to SB. And simply beat by a better team and arguably better QB.

And Stafford was probably closer to Elite all of those years on mostly dismal Lion teams and why one of the best offensive guru HC’s this era gave up so much to land him. Just saying…

Mahomes went to a team that made it to several AFC championship games before he was in the NFL. He had top WR & TE in the league along with one of the best OL and it still took a choking Jimmy “g” overthrow for him to win a SB.

Once his line got exposed he wasn’t poo in the SB, looked like a chicken with its head cut off.

Never thought I'd be defending Dak but some of you people are seriously clueless. The guy threw 37 TD's - 10 INT's | QB rating:104.2** last season on one leg. By today's low standards of a franchise QB, he fits the bill.

His QBR was terrible.

Stats mean nothing. They matter only to people who don't understand what they're watching.

I appreciate the first round OL pick.
Just wish we would have added some OL depth in free agency.

We were inevitably going to lose talent this year.

Last year we hit on cheapo free agents and had numerous key contributors still on their rookie contracts. We weren't going to get all those guys back at prices so low.

It should be much worse. Yet again we're pushing a good 20 million of Dak cap hit into the future.

In one sense we were so spoiled on the oline last year, with two legitimate starters as backups. On the other hand, even with all the top guys healthy, they laid an egg in the playoffs in the first round at home.

I'd like more depth. I'd like them to play better when it counts. We don't have the talent or the money. We spent our wad of what we had to spend, our first round pick, on the oline. We just don't have the resources for last year's depth, and are already engaged in deficit spending as is.

It pisses me off greatly that Creed Humphrey was there for the taking last year and we took a Rapping Project Bad Apple CB instead that will probably do nothing for us. Creed Humphrey will probably be in the conversation every year as, at minimum, a top 10 type of center in the league (if not the best in the league at some point).

It was high on our needs list, makes life for the offense a lot better, and just a far better pick.

David Helman includes in his argument the comparison of what the Kansas City Chiefs have done roster wise surrounding Patrick Mahomes. Well, he is referring to two different front offices.

On one hand, Jerry Jones & Company "believe" they have acquired optimal talent that was available to surround Dak Prescott. On the other hand, KC "knows" they have gotten the best players available. It is two different roster building philosophies within his comparison.

Jones does not think he is sabotaging Prescott. He believes he has given his quarterback the best tools any current general manager could secure for him under the same conditions. I doubt Jones sees Prescott as a possible scapegoat for that reason.
