The Messiah will never be the scapegoat…….the experiment and excuses will continue until the next real franchise Qb shows up……..enjoy the season

I really don't know what some folks expect, season after season.

The Cowboys haven't been legitimate Super Bowl contenders in decades, just occasional pretenders. Stop expecting more from the regime-for-life. You'll be happier.

Just enjoy the show. It's all you're going to get from them. If the Jones boys were capable of more we'd have seen it by now. Meanwhile, keep blaming their employees.

Ive said it several times:

ceedee lamb
Michael Gallup
James Washington
Jalen Tolbert
Dalton Schultz
Tony Pollard
Ezekiel Elliott

that is a decent set of weapons. I dont want to hear that as an excuse for this offense not being top-10

None of that matters if the center is getting blown off the ball all game and the LT is out with an injury. The offensive line get dominated vs good teams last year and there aren't many signs that this season will be any different.

Just Dak?? Jerry set the ENTIRE team up for failure with his refusal to improve in the offseason. He never had a plan to do anything except dump 70 mil on Gregory. That and dump two quality WRs.

Romo averaged 3.4 exciting moments per game.
Dak hasn’t had one yet. Too scared to make a big time throw/mistake.

Damn, my bad. I tried to look that up and couldn't find that stat. Yeah Romo was exciting.... too bad those exciting moments didn't keep him from getting his job snatched by Dak.

With that said, other than the false "exciting moment" BS, do you have any of Romo's stats to compare against Dak's stats coming out of college from their rookie year to their 6th season??? Lets use real numbers this time, not mak believe.....

There’s a difference between being paid like a franchise QB and actually being a franchise QB. My OPINION is that he’s NOT.
Your opinion doesn't matter lol, only the opinions of NFL GM's and F.O.'s across the league is what counts. By today's low standards of what a true FRANCHISE QB is, Dak would be highly sought after if the Cowboys were to release him. Whether you agree or not, it's a stone-cold fact..

I think MM is the one who will be far more likely to get the axe than Dak, if this FO doesn't get a good backup at LT to fill in for Tyron when he goes down to injury. If they can't see the writing on the wall by now, then they're hopelessly blind. Even Ray Charles could see that, at least mentally, by now.

He's not even close to being one.

He's 29. It's time to carry this team like a real franchise quarterback or leave.
Never thought I'd be defending Dak but some of you people are seriously clueless. The guy threw 37 TD's - 10 INT's | QB rating:104.2** last season on one leg. By today's low standards of a franchise QB, he fits the bill.

That's the thing about franchise QBs is they usually show at some point during their rookie contract they can carry the team in tough situations. Daks highlight of his career was his 14 yard run for a first down where he was hit and flipped landing on his head. Now that is great for a running back but when is the last time dak was on the 7 yard line and fired a quick slant into the belly of the WR in the endzone with 3 defenders standing within 1 yard. Those are plays that tell you this guy is for real. Heck Eli Manning would make that throw.

How much do you truly believe Cousins could actually win a SB?
I really don’t follow the Vikings enough to make a call. But from what I’ve seen is one of those middle of the road guys who if had enough around him could go further. How far. Who knows.

But is he taking a team to the SB wihout a great team. Probably not. Like most QB’s in the league.

We have seen the Jones boys debacle for 26 years and counting now why would it change now? This off season firmly cemented how bad the Jones boys are. Cowboys had a very good roster last year. So instead of going for it they made the team worse. You can’t tell me that winning is their priority when they continue to do idiotic things. But hey #1 sports franchise for worth.

Means absolutely nothing if your o-line can’t block.

The guy wanted to be payed like an elite QB.

Well elite QBs are able to move the ball against great defenses on a constant basis. That with average talent surrounded.
Dak still has good talent around him.

So where is the problem ? Play like an elite QB. You had 6 years to learn how to do it.
And as i heard you are in the best shape of your life.

How elite was Mahomes when his Chiefs lost to the Bucs 31-9 in Super Bowl LV in 2021? The Bucs defense was on fire and the Chiefs were playing with 2 backups on their offensive line.

The Rams won Super Bowl LVI with Stafford in 2022. Stafford is a streaky, periodically dominant passer but he is not an elite quarterback. However the Rams offensive and defense line consistently performed above average throughout most of the regular season, particularly in the playoffs. Outstanding offensive lines and great defenses matter!

Our team had an opportunity to win this game against the Broncos but penalites did them in. Last year we were the most penalized team in the NFL. The margin of error is unforgiving in the playoffs. It is only pre-season and the first game manned mostly by some 2nd and third stringers, so no need to panick - but it is concerning to start up where we left off last season with penalties no matter what time of the season.
