Perhaps the QB decision was made before last night

I think the QB position is already settled. Grier has had a pretty good camp, and I think they rested him last night for two reasons.

1. Protect him and that groin because he's already won the job, at least over Rush.

2. Give Rush a chance to showcase himself for other teams.

DiNucci showed a lot of improvement, so I think they're going with Dak, Grier, and DiNucci this year. Nooch was more accurate and made better decisions this game, even with that crazy throwing motion. Pretty strong arm, accurate, and nice rotation on the ball.

I think they play Rush plenty this week, too, out of appreciation so he can try to catch on somewhere (and eat up a lot of those minutes).

No reason to keep both Grier and Rush.

If Grier is ready for the #2 job, then no upside with Rush.

If Grier can't beat out Rush at this point then he is not worth keeping. He has been in the NFL long enough.

DiNucci has upside which is what you want as the #3 QB.

I agree, unless that groin is problematic. Give Rush another game if so, but perhaps start DiNucci first.

Honestly, I think Dak and the offense need some preseason time, other than the backs.

I like Rush, but he reminds me of Gary Hogeboom for those that remember him. Ok in a pinch, but that's about it.

The Nooch has come a long way since that start against Philly. Still has a ways to go.

I'll admit, I must have just crawled out from underneath a rock, but who the hell is Grier? First I've heard of him.

Agree they should cut Rush. Not because of last night, or anything performance related. In fact, I would be fine with cutting DiNucci, too. Go with 2 QBs. If Dak goes down, the season is lost, anyway. They could practice squad DiNucci (or someone from other team cuts) to keep a practice arm around. Let the scouts bring in a pet cat to evaluate.

As an OU fan, that guy was terrific at West Virginia and used to kill us. He's got moxie.

At his best, I'd compare his upside to Jake Delhomme or Kirk Cousins.

I would like to see Grier in a game.

I'm ok if the veteran starters don't play in the preseason.

Readiness for game 1 vs injury risk.

I'm not against playing the starters for a half but I'm ok if they don't.

I think analytics would indicate avoidance of injury is more important than game 1 readiness because it's 1 game vs a key starter out for multiple games.

Didn’t they say Grier was injured or something?

OP is giving the front office way to much credit ....... they rarely have a plan ...... and when they do they often change it at a fools whim.

Grier was the #1 QB coming out of high school. He got busted for a banned substance at U of Florida his freshman year where he started the first 6 or so games and was undefeated. He was a stud at WVU in a throw it everywhere offense and had one of the prettiest deep balls I've ever seen. All that said I think he is a fine back up who could get a few wins if needed but probably not a full time starter anywhere. I would probably put him in Chase Daniels territory and he hasn't had a solid place to show any ability until here and wow his wife is smoking hot.

If you're an NFL quarterback and your wife isn't smoking hot, you're either not trying or lazy. Lol

I think Grier is the #2 and Nooch will be on the practice squad.

They went to school together.

He could have dated 15 of her before getting married, a la Romo.

Still don't understand Aaron Rodgers and his endless train of mediocres. Lol, must be tough to get them to come back to northern Wisconsin.

Seriously though, they look like a very happy family, which is the best thing there is in life.
