Well at least someone is attempting to hold Jerry accountable.
The fans with their spending habits certainly are not.

I quit buying any Cowboys merchandise a couple of years ago, told anybody who might buy me a Christmas or birthday present to do so either.

Not going to solve anything of course but just my little protest...

Many have. Randy Galloway, Dale Hansen, Norm Hitzges, Craig Miller, Bob Sturm…to name a few- have been on him for years. It’s just many more now.

Add Randy Galloway and Jean Jacques-Taylor to that list, big time...

LOL

This article was from 2016.

And I warned everyone about Stephen back then too.

I don't mind the way Stephen thinks,
Pay your own that you draft and develop(you know them). Draft and develop , then play them. I don't mind the cheap Free agents either, there's more free agent bust than hits. But I do like the move we did with Amari in 2018 when those type deals are available

Regardless it was done right? They saw the needed a move and did it.

You miss the point entirely. If they had done proper planning, it would NOT have been necessary. Being forced into doing something is hardly something to brag about...

I’d like to think that I direct an appropriate amount of criticism toward the front office when it is justified. I have bashed them pretty hard over keeping Witten too long, overpaying for marginal talent in free agency and missing a sure thing in Creed Humphrey for a rapping CB who seems to be a total bust. There are countless other examples of my angst of the failings of the current Cowboys administration.

Having said the foregoing, I really don’t get the current level of criticism being thrown at the Cowboys right now over Tyron Smith (regarding a failure to plan for Tyron’s injury). They drafted an OG/OT combination player in the first round.

He will be young, he will take his lumps and he will get beaten some, but a team is going to pay handsomely (overpay) for marginal talent at OT, that may not play any better than the rookie.

If I were going to criticize this move, it would have been due to the team not trading Tyron, getting some salvage value out of his contract. I think he is closer to done than most think.

I wouldn’t have counted on Tyron at all this year and would heave moved on from him in the offseason. But I can’t say that it’s outside the realm of possibility that Tyron will give us more out of his contract than a replacement level player for similar money. Tyron’s contract is a bargain by current NFL standards, provided he can still play.

The Cowboys may have gambled wrong on this, but I can’t say that the gamble made was outside of reasonability.

I don't care when they did it, or being forced, they did it, no team is always prepared when they sign someone, they felt they had enough, they felt Hurns who was just 2 years removed from a 1,000 yard 10 td season would be a nice piece to add with Bryant and Beasley at first, Stephen wanted Bryant to take a pay cut from his 16.5 a year salary, he wouldn't and was released.

I don't know why no one bothers to mention it, but the Cowboys can use a TE on that side to help pass block or chip. They're going to have to do that if they don't trust the left tackle.
There are a lot of things they can do like throwing screens to that side to slow them down, roll the other way, keeping a back in, etc. But that really isn't a solution. We are talking about the entire season not just finishing out a game after an injury. Our #1 TE isn't blocking anyone and if you go with a second TE you weaken an already weak receiving corps even more. We need to add an OL. Even if we move T Smith 73 we need a better OG than McGovern. We have the cap space and we have a huge glaring need. There literally isn't another team that is hoping to contend that would just do nothing. But our free agency mantra only allows for cheap one year bargains. If a guy wants an extra $20 we can't make it happen. Hopefully we earn interest on those cap dollars sitting idle before we roll them into next year.

Oh what is this. "THE COWBOYS UNDER STEPHEN JONES"
from NFL Execs

https://bleacherreport.com/articles...phen-jones-are-turning-into-a-scary-contender
Unless my eyes are deceiving me, this article was written in 2016. So six years ago, an NFL exec said SJ’s work was “scary good”. Two thoughts on the “scary good”:
  1. That NFL Exec praising SJ may have been Jerry.
  2. We should drop the word “good” from “scary good”. I would agree having Stephen Jones fully in charge would be scary.

Nice to see Jerry has his fans, too bad not that many agree with you.

If you think Jerry has done a fine job the last 26 years, that's fine, you're entitled to your opinion...

Dre I respect your right to have that opinion and if you believe in the Jones FO that’s fine. But not every Cowboys fan does believe this Jones FO is competent. Count me among those that find the Jones boys embarrassing. We can have differing opinions, right? And I find that article about SJ from six years ago to be a little stale.
